Beckhams name new baby son 'Cruz'
11:45am 20th February 2005

Victoria Beckham has given birth to her third son, it was announced today. The baby was born in Madrid, shortly after husband David finished playing in a match in the capital for Real Madrid. "We've got a baby boy. His name is Cruz," a beaming David Beckham told reporters outside the hospital. "He is beautiful. He is in there with his brothers now and he is very happy."

The birth was by caesarean section as were the couple's other two children Brooklyn, five, and Romeo, two. A statement released today said: "David and Victoria Beckham are delighted to announce the birth of their baby boy Cruz Beckham, born today at 10.40am (Spanish time) at the Hospital Ruber Internacional, Madrid. "The baby's weight is 3 kilos, 200 grams. (Just over 7lbs) "Both mother and baby are well and the family would like to thank Dr Vidal, Dr Gillard and all the medical team for their help and support." Dr Vidal Pelaez, head of the obstetrics and gynaecology department at the Ruber International Hospital said: "At 10.40am today Victoria Beckham had a caesarean, which had been planned, giving birth to a boy.

Perfect health

"Medical intervention lasted 30 minutes with no complications whatsoever. Mother and child are in perfect health." The couple announced Victoria's third pregnancy in August last year, saying they were "delighted" at the "fantastic news". The baby was initially said to be due in early March but recent reports had claimed the 30-year-old former Spice Girl would have a caesarean on Friday next week. The couple celebrated the birth of their first son Brooklyn - named after the place where he was conceived - now five, in March 1999. In September 2002, Victoria gave birth to their second son Romeo at the private Portland Hospital in London.

Allegations of Becks' affair

News of her latest pregnancy came after allegations that Beckham had an affair. In April last year, the footballer was forced to make an on-the record denial of claims of an affair with 26-year old personal assistant Rebecca Loos. Beckham branded the allegations "ludicrous" in a statement issued soon afterwards. He said at the time: "The simple truth is that I am very happily married, have a wonderful wife and two very special kids. "There is nothing that any third party can do to change these facts." Speculation over the Beckhams' marriage first surfaced in September 2003 after the footballer's transfer to Spain. The news that they planned to have the baby in Spain bolstered Victoria's pledge to concentrate her attention on being by her husband's side in Madrid.

maybe that's why he had tom cruise as a guest in one the games (i don't remember which one it was, but i remember someone posting the image).
beckham was never known to be too smart so i guess he just mispelled the name...

or did he have an affair with Penelope Cruz? :pp :nasty:

or the baby was "made" in any place in spain named (santa) cruz or something similar. I mean Brooklyn and Rom-eo already were named after "such" places respectively. ;)

David and Victoria Beckham are tonight celebrating the birth of their third son, who they've named Cruz.
The baby was born by caesarean section in Madrid at 1040 local time this morning and the boy weighted 7Ib.

The couple already have two boys, named Brooklyn (five) and Romeo (two).

Beckham, who plays for Real Madrid, said: "He’s gorgeous, healthy and his mum is very good so we’re a very happy family. He’s got Victoria’s lips and nose."

Cruz means cross in Spanish.

When asked about the name Beckham added: "We found it hard this time but we found a name we liked and stuck with it."

I found some hilarious stuff in Daily Mail: :D

As Victoria Beckham gives birth to her third son Cruz, we thought a little advice was in order to prepare him for life with his famous family.

The first thing you need to know, Cruz, is that as well as Mummy and Daddy, you will have lots of relations. You will have three grans for a start. There's Granny Jackie, who's Mummy's mummy. And there's Granny Sandra, who's Daddy's mummy. And then there's Granny Elton, who's well, he's no one's mummy.

Your arrival means Daddy's running out of room on his back for all the tattoos. Brooklyn is eight letters, Romeo is five letters. Perhaps it would have been less embarrassing and less fuss had they simply called you, 'It', and he could stick your name neatly on to his shoulder blade.

He's got Brooklyn's name on one boot and Romeo's on the other. With three boys in the family now, it looks like Daddy will have to grow another leg.

Being the son of a famous footballer means you can dress in silly clothes and still be popular.

Mummy's lovely. She's given up her career as a top pop star just to devote all her attention to her family. So now you are one of the privileged few in the whole wide world who will ever hear her sing.

The other important family member is Uncle Sven. Every time England play, he rings Daddy and asks, 'so who would you like to play with you in the team and what colour shirts would you like to wear?'. If you are nice to Mummy when Daddy is out shopping, he might choose you.

If Runnymede College seems a bit stuffy, just take a leaf out of Daddy's book and make a few jokes. Your classmates will expect you to be a star on the pitch, so do what Daddy does and pretend to take a penalty, but kick the ball miles into the air to give everyone a laugh.

You will get to play dress-ups with Daddy most days.

Being famous means you'll be showered with presents. But because you'll already have most of the stuff anyway, you will be the youngest person in the world to do a good deed by leaving the toys at the hosptial for less fortunate children.

Last year, Romeo got a great big wooden fort as a present but it might have to be torn down because it needed planning permission. But it's not all just a slippery slope. You will have lots of stuff to play with - there's a garage with hundreds of cars and a dressing-up cupboard where Daddy keeps his diamonds and sarongs.
