Maybe this should be a poll, maybe not..:D

Collina turned 45 last month and he reached "retirement" age for a referee. He will not officiate any FIFA or UEFA game from the end of this season.

It also applies to Italy, but he could continue if italian associations agree. This would be reviewed on yearly basis.

Most likely, he will become a designator, ie the person that assignes referees for the games. But if you had a choice, what would you prefer?

i think its a stupid rule that referees have to retire once they reach 45. In the case of a ref like collina, he is still as fit as ever, respected by players and managers, basically he is the best ref in the world. I mean if players such as maldini and zola can still compete at the top level at their ages, why carn't collina.

If that means Bergamo gets kicked out, I'm all for it.

Yes he must retire! Did you see the penalty of Juve two weeks ago!
