Haifa is in fourth place in the league, but far away from Beitar Jerusalem and minimum title chances for the Greens this season. Coach Roni Levi who is in his 5th season with the club is expected to leave the team from the Carmel at the end of the season.
Levi has conquered Israeli trophies winning the league three times, plus a state cup and Toto cup, but failed to put the team in the CL with big failures against Rosenborg and Malmo. Levi had one good season in Europe in which Maccabi Haifa reached the eightfinals from Uefa Cup in season 2006/2007.

The media now has been speculating some names to substitute Levi and among them appear Nir Klinger currently in Cyprus with AEK Larca. The former Maccabi Tel Aviv coach who won a title with the yellow and blue and guided the team to an historical appearance in the CL group stage has clause in his contract where he could leave to Haifa is offered officialy.

But the fans aren't exactly fond of seeing Klinger at their ranks and fan favourite is Reuven Atar, former player of the club and who is currently making an excellent job at Netanya. The diamonds are currently second place and will most likely play in Europe next season. The team has many youngsters in which Atar has pulled to the senior team, but Netanya owner Daniel Jammer will try to hold his coach.

Another option is Ran Ben Shimon, Kiriat Shmona's coach who is making a great season in its debut in top flight. Ben Shimon is known to work well with youngsters and was an option to substitute Guy Levi in the U-21 NT.

His name is strongly rumoured at Maccabi Tel Aviv. He was actually supposed to coach the team earlier when Eli Cohen left, but IFA didn't give him permission to leave. I also strated a thread with the same name at the Maccabi forum, since speculation will go until the end of the season.
As much as i dislike Haifa, i think they should get a foreign coach. They had one in the past and it was seldom success!

My candidate: Mista Richard Moeller Nielsen..

GUND DART DAT DENMAAAARK! :D
as much as i dislike kappa and his dirty owned club i must say that i also would prefer a foreign manager, and Nielsen would not be such a bad choice. I think Guy Levi would also be a great idea. Maccabi Tel-aviv want Levi but something makes me feel that maccabi tel-aviv will sign Luis Fernandes at the end of the season, and if Maccabi tlv do sign Levi then i wouldn't mind seing fernandes with us...what is very true is that we do need to replace levi, but shachar would not be so quick to do so.

Yes, i also have a big impression that Louis Fernandez could be coming to Maccabi Tel Aviv next season, especially with many players speaking French and Tiberius Darau already working there ( he was supposed to come in the summer, with Fernandez?).

I like Nielsen, he is a nice person aswell, professional and he likes Israel. He would be intresting. Where is he coaching BTW?

For Haifa i believe Atar would be great, he is a promising coach and has an identity with the club.
Apparently Nielsen is retired as per wikipedia
according to Wikipedia so is Fernendez since he is jobless
wikipedia is the source of life but i wouldn't count on either "retired" managers turning down a job
