I would like to know who you think were/are the greatest players in the Balkans of all time.

My starting formation (3-4-1-2):

Goalie: Ducadam (Romania)

Defense: Mihaljovic (Yugoslavia) - Popescu (Romania) - Belodedici (Romania)

Midfield: Savicevic (Yugoslavia) - Hagi (Romania) - Jugovic (Yugoslavia)

Attacking Midfielder: Boban (Croatia)

Forwads: Stoichkov (Bulgaria) - Asparuhov (Bulgaria)

On my bench I would have: Balakov (Bulgaria), Proscencki (Croatia), Suker (Croatia), Marinescu (Romania).

OK, there's a problem because I don't know the Romanian, Bulgarian and other players from the past that well so I might miss out on somebody, but here goes.. :)

Ducadam
Popescu Mihajlovic Belodedic Petrescu

Jugovic Hagi Boban

Savicevic

Puskas(Stoickov) Dzajic

But this is just a wild guess really... :) :)

giani: Lacatus eh? hehehe never liked him much, I always thought he was cheap. And no Puskas, I recently read he is one of the greatest forwards of all time!

Please don't tell me Hungary isn't part of the Balkans either. ;)

It's not on the Balkan peninsula, and if we were considering Hungary, I think there should be more players from it besides Puskas- Kocis, Hidegkuti, Alber. And I do not know why do you consider Stoichkov a better forward than Asparuhov, who is officially the best Bulgarian player for all of the time. And Lacatus I consider similar to Stoichkov. :)
PS: Asparuhov was the main target of Milan at the time of Rivera ;) . But the communist never allowed him to leave the country. And he is considered the best bulgarian player by European experts in the classation of European players of the century (where he is twenty places in front of Stoichkov).

Wow, I heard of him, but I never really paid attention on how good he was.

Hehe, damnit, I suck at geography. So to avoid this problem again, can you please tell me the countries in the Balkans. :)

Hehe, you could imagine the embaressment of fellow Romanians, but you know I've been away from there for 9 years now.

By the way, check out my revised post at the top.
