Over the next week and a bit we will be seeing some dramatic events surely. At this stage last season Man U were lucky to escape from Rome with an away goal, but a week later totally ripped a new hole into AS bit of Roma. Milan were also knocking out Bayern Munich. Can it be a coincedence that Barcelona play a German team? and could have 3 English teams in the SF, similar to Milan... maybe so, maybe not... on barca's form, they must watch out for Schalke though, not as easy as they may expect.

In any case this years QFs should be a good watch. Probably most intriguing is Roma - Man Utd... but certainly the All english clash is being hyped up, particularly on these shores.

I am betting on 4 draws for the first games. lets see.

illegit money... Im not saying its definite, but at the same time I wouldnt be surprised.
lol, I'd say it's highly, highly unlikely. That kind of thing would come out pretty quickly. The way suggested would need to be a pretty large scale conspiracy, if all refs are acting in UEFA's financial interests. Pretty sure someone would have blown the whistle (boom boom) on it by now.
A ref should call what he thinks is right, time of the game and size of the game shouldn't affect that. He has rules, he has his interpritation, he should follow them.
Rob, the "tug" (it was one slight tug) occurred OUTSIDE the box, but Babel did not want to go down until he reached the box, of course. In that case, it's a free kick, not a penalty. The "foul" was committed outside the box. As far as the penalty area is concerned, there was absolutely no tugging.
Why would I have an agenda?
Talking down on toure and feeling you have to justify that by stubbornly claiming this was some kind of penalty.

Toure (and initially Cesc) had contact with Babel all the way from just outside the box (you could argue this is where Babel started losing his balance), until they went into the box,
The only contact that was in any way near a foul was Fabregas grabbing the hand of Babel.

Toure flapping around like a fool and slightly hindering the balance of Babel. This is no straight dive and Toure being all innocent, believe so if you like.
If that contact was anything near a penalty then there should be like 50 penalties every game. He barely touched his upper body for gods sake, wasn't even close to his legs.
Last I checked there was not some new strange rule that they must be extra careful with player out of balance. Unless we talk about the silent rule about being careful with those players since they may get unfair penalties.

You could argue if its too lenient of a pk case to give at the dead of a big game, but it defenitely has a case for the pk and the foul.
There is no cause for a penalty at all. contact inside the penalty area wasn't close to what would have been a freekick outside.

I know it is hard for the referee to see, but that doesn't make it a penalty.

showing 25 minutes of passing and being the better team in a macth does not mean you deserve to win the match, Liverpool came back into the match with the hyypia goal and were then never out of it, they shows tremednous character and scored some brilliant goals with torres .I'm so proud of them tonite, thanks.
What about Essien's stiff-arm on the Fener defender for the second goal? Isn't that a foul?

Toure was still making contact inside the box, until youtube proves otherwise, I'm 99% on this.
What a great match! Liverpool entirely deserves to be in the semi finals as it was the best team in the sum of both games. For all the quality that Arsenal have in their squad they still don't manage to match people like Gerrard and Torres.

true.
why is every one blaming Liverpool FC for refs bad decisions and put in us together with Juventus?

Its not like we payed the refs.

But anyways i don't give a **** what you'll think we are in the semis, and I think it was a hard decision on the PK, there was defenetly a foul, but not sure if in or outside area.
Its true, it is most likely the referee just sh!ts himself when he sees Mascherano's teeth
That is what will make them go through though;)
Hopefully, would rather see a Barca/United final with Chelsea... that combination of teams usually make very good games. Although this Grant team, you can see the players have no desire to perform under him, its like they're forcing themselves to win for their own sakes than for the team. So disjointed, they'd be pretty open to all out attacks which of course means they have to attack.

And I thought it was a pen too, Toure jumped on the back of Babel ffs... why is he doing that if not to obstruct Babel? By the law of the game its a pen, Hleb should have had a pen too which is neither here nor there. A lot of hate for Liverpool, fair enough they aren't exactly Brazil circa 70's but its a little exaggerated dontcha think? They scored 5 goals over two legs, not the stuff of boredom. Although I was hoping Arse win just so we'd miss the semi-final shitfest.

If breathing is contact your right...Otherwise that was a terrible call.

He 'touched' Babel who was already on his way down. If this is a penalty then I give up watching football.
Senderos is truly awful but I just feel chelsea will get through against us (Liverpool
) just becos they of the law of averages...surely?
i'm not just saying this because I'm a Liverpool fan but IMO that was a penalty, soft penalty but still a penalty, Babel gets pulled out side the box but carries on and Toure leans/pulls on Bables back while running across him making Babel loose his balance. In the eyes of the law thats a penalty.
And i guess jumping on his back means being behind a player lol.
Still moaning about penalties I see, and I love it :D

I have already made my opinion on the pk clear enough but about Toure, I am dissapointed in him, thats why I was calling him out. In the Gooner team, he is my favourite together with Hleb, and the ony I would want to be as great as possible, but he is a versatile and skillfull physical beast in overall, who doesnt have too good positioning and can be too erratic sometimes.
use have won 2 league titles cheating:thmbup:

You get decision, after decision - domestically and in Europe. On the rare ocassion that you don't, the referee apologises to you and a minutes silence is held in the city centre.
Man someone needs to get some highlights in here... no way Toure made much contact with him as some say... it was hardly any at all and the contact that was there was because Toure was tracking back and his momentum makes him touch babel slightly... happens all the time.
Yes, there was hardly enough contact betwen Toure and Babel to be given a foul in basketball, let alone football. Sickening decision.

Its not like we payed the refs.
How the heck can you be sure about that? :D

OK. I suggest rugby for you.
