CL QF Discussion Thread

Over the next week and a bit we will be seeing some dramatic events surely. At this stage last season Man U were lucky to escape from Rome with an away goal, but a week later totally ripped a new hole into AS bit of Roma. Milan were also knocking out Bayern Munich. Can it be a coincedence that Barcelona play a German team? and could have 3 English teams in the SF, similar to Milan... maybe so, maybe not... on barca's form, they must watch out for Schalke though, not as easy as they may expect.

In any case this years QFs should be a good watch. Probably most intriguing is Roma - Man Utd... but certainly the All english clash is being hyped up, particularly on these shores.

I am betting on 4 draws for the first games. lets see.

What did Toure do? I tried searching for contact but didn't find any.
I thought the replay showed that it was a clear foul.
If that was a penalty the sun is green.

Another Liverpool - Chelsea game. God damnit those games are so boring it stops time itself.
Me looking forward to the semi finals after tonight's results.

Osman, there is no way that should have been a pen, ever. Regardless of what Toure did.
The pk is semi questionable in where the foul started, but it was defenitely a foul.

But most importantly, even if you deemed it weak, ALL the fault lays in Toure's EXTREMELY clumsy conduct in that sitaution. Total doofus "defending".
2 fake expulsions against Inter and a last gasp imaginary penalty tonight..

Even Moggi would be proud.
:D

Seriously though, i'd feel absolutely sickened going out like that if I was an Arsenal fan.

Was hard on Inter fans aswell but this just takes the cake.

And now we've got another Chelsea v Liverpool semi, fantastic.

Hopefully United and Barca make it through safe tomorrow so the semi's can be tagged with the beauty and the beast puns. :D
Btw right before Torres's second Adebayor was wrongly flagged offside.
I agree with Osman... a very stupid way to get a penalty...
final would be boring...man.utd vs barcellona true final
In reality, I have nothing against Liverpool, but considering Chelsea's rivals (as good as Fenerbache can be, Chelsea was going to pass), I wanted them to go out badly tonight, it's just, the world doesn't deserve it.
Just boycott the Liverpool -Chelsea match. Why bother.
Too bad that instant lucky pk decider overshadows Walcotts INSANE run...

And yeah Andy, big footie fan who would watch any footie, and this is a CL semi final, best the sport has to offer in venue, but I will seriously try to avoid this hellish tie of Chelski and Pool.
I definately wont watch that game

You won´t see a penalty like that to Romania in EURO :mute:

He hit him about as hard as a autumn leaf. If anything it was a foul by Fabregas OUTSIDE the penalty area. Toure just ran in and possibly caressed some part of a Babel that probably wasn't very interested in standing up.
It would be less likely to call a pk in that fashion if it wasnt the home team (let alone a big team with frantic home suport), but its still clumsy enough foul to be a pk. Toure is to blame for his stupid erratic defending.
I'll watch Chelsea/Pool, 3 hours of my life I won't get back but obligated to watch it.

Can't believe Kolo ruined Theo's insane run of death.

Definitely agree. In those situations if you are a tw*t to try and challenge like he did, you should expect a player to make the most of it.

He simply fecked up, and Liverpool got a 50/50 decision yet again in their way:mute:

couldn't agree more.

You seem to have an agenda here. I am a bit unsure what you thought he would do, stand still and wait it out?
I will give Grant the benifite of the doubt in that he might not want to play bunker football like Mourinho, but the evil entity that is Chelski+Pool is nothing you can controll.

I will seriously try to avoid both legs of this tie. I must learn my lesson and stop being a sadistic ****.
Grant plays waaaaaaaaay worse football than Jose from what I have seen, most of the team haven't got a clue what they're doing. Terrible team at the moment, Liverpool should steamroll them really if Rafa grows a pair.
