Arsenal v Manchester City

Highbury
Tuesday, 4 January
Kick-off: 1945 GMT

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Arsenal defender Sol Campbell is ruled out with a twisted ankle so Swiss teenager Phillippe Senderos makes his Premiership debut in his place.

Robert Pires is set to return on the wing for the Gunners while Robin van Persie will keep his place up front.

Manchester City defender Danny Mills is suspended so 18-year-old Nedum Onouha is likely to make only his second Premiership start at Highbury.

Left-back Ben Thatcher is also set to continue for the visitors.

Arsenal (from): Almunia, Lehmann, Hoyte, Cole, Clichy, Toure, Senderos, Larsson, Vieira, Fabregas, Pires, Ljungberg, Pennant, Henry, van Persie.

BIG-MATCH FACTS

ARSENAL go head-to-head with Manchester City for the third time this season and are looking for a third victory. They're also bidding for a sixth successive 'double' over City, a seventh over them in the Premiership and 23rd since their first League meeting in 1893.

The champions are one of three clubs still with an unbeaten home Premiership record, alongside Chelsea and Manchester United. Arsenal have not lost in 30 top flight games at Highbury since the famous 2-3 loss to Leeds on 4 May 2003.

The Gunners have won their last 11 League meetings City. They need another two victories against them to equal Portsmouth's record of most successive victories against one club. (Pompey defeated Everton on 13 consecutive League meetings between 18 January 1949 and 4 February 1956). A wonder strike from Thierry Henry was the pick of the goals in Arsenal's 2-1 victory in last season's corresponding fixture. Full back Ashley Cole produced a quality finish to take the points in this season's reverse fixture. Robin van Persie set an under strength Gunners on their way to victory over City in the Carling Cup in October.

MANCHESTER CITY go into their 300th Premier League match and 150th on the road, having gained just two Premiership points from a possible 45 against Arsenal.

Kevin Keegan's side have alternated between wins and defeats in their last four Premiership games on the road. If that sequence is to be maintained, they need to win at Highbury.

The Citizens last posted a League victory at the north London venue over 29 years ago. Since the 2-3 top flight success on 4 October 1975, the Mancunians have drawn five and lost 14 League visits to the North London giants.

I'd be delighted with a draw, but expect a defeat. Hopefully it will be dignified. We've managed to stop conceding 5 to the Arse like we did in 00-01 and 02-03. Last season we lost 2-1 twice, and lost 1-0 this season. Thats not too bad in comparison to the 5-1 in 02-03, the 5-0 and the 4-0 in 00-01.

WE can refuse most offers. Only United, Chelsea, R. Madrid, Milan and Barcelona can afford him.
