Chivu on the move?

819 Views 42 Replies 14 Participants Last post by  waq
Chivu said this week that he wants to leave Ajax after this season. He declared that he can't learn much anymore at Ajax. the only reason why he could stay another year is that Ajax will play CL. He still has a contract till 2006.

Personally I want him to stay  But that's obvious. Koeman also wants him to stay, not only for the club, but also for Chivu. He thinks Chivu should stay one more year and get even better.

What do you think? Should he stay?

Did you see him on TV actually saying he wants to leave? We all know that those stupid jurnalists stated in the winter that Chivu said that he wants to move to Inter, which turned out to be false.

I don't know. If it's not Milan, he should stay for another year. It would terrible for Milan to lose such a change to get such a great player.
OK, Chivu is not dumb to say that even if he wants it. The press is fu9kin with your minds in Amsterdam...:D Personally I think he should stay for another year because he has become a leader at Ajax, and is well respected.
As for Chivu going to Milan, as David and many other Romanians hope, I think it will be a mistake…After seeing how Contra ended up, I would rather see him go to England where the playing style is closer to Dutch and he would not have difficulties fitting in…
I also want at least 0ne Romanian playing in The Premier League, it always gives us an edge to have a spy when we play England.
It would be good for him to have a really succesful season with Ajax first, like win the league, and then get into the Champion's league. From what I've seen and read, Ajax has enough talented players and a competent coach, so they could perform well in Europe. If Chivu manages to be a leader at Ajax and maybe win some trophies, he'll have an easier time in Italy or Spain, where they would expect him to win every time.

P.S: When Gica Popescu retires, I hope Chivu will be captain again for the NT.

we will win the league this year  and were close to winning the Dutch cup too
This evening we made it into the Cupfinal after we trashed P$V with 3-0!! Chivu played a solid match, Kezman was almost nowhere to be seen, he had one chance.

About your earlier question, no I haven't seen him saying it on tv but 4 newspapers and at least 2 websites report it. I know that isn't enough prove but the newspapers are "usually" pretty reliable. Sometimes they come up with the biggest crap but usually... The articles seem pretty convincing to me.
Chivu said that he doesn't want to talk with any clubs before the 12th of may, that's the date of the Cupfinal (and one day before my birthday)

I'll keep u updated
Chivu is 21, he is very young althought he is very mature and skilled and already his club's capitain. I think that if he stayed at Ajax for another season, it would be a good idea. He learned and developed immensely. He learned how to be professional, different tasks, how to control his aggressiveness (Remember how many Red cards he got in the first games he played?! :) ). Plus, the public loves him so ...yeah, staying another year in Ajax would be good but, if he moves to a Spanish team, I wouldn't mind it either ...

Going to Italy would be a mistake right now, the same would be for England. England does not have the same style as Holland, as the Dutch are much more technical.

England? What should he do in England? Get bored? No way. He'll learn more by staying one more year in Ajax than going in England. This guy has to go in Italy. It is the thoughest league, esp. for a defender. If he can be as elegant, spectacular and constistent as he is in the NT and Ajax in an Italian team, then we have the future [maybe even current] worlds best left back in our hands.
I would like see Chivu playing for Barça in the near future, but it would be good that he continue in Ajax next season, because he´s a very valorated player there and he will play in Champions League against the best world players.

Chivu will be,probably, the best romanian defender in all the times.:D

:( ;) HAI ROMANIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Barca or Real is the ideal place I see Chivu Blossoming in. I think he can be a fan favorite and a captain down the road. Boy are we lucky to have Chivu :)

I just hope there is going to be more great young defenders like him soon!!

“Am baut vreo trei beri”

Bravo, “capitane”! Cum a fost?
Extraordinar! Bem o cafea, o bere. Eu am baut vreo trei beri, iar acum sint in drum spre casa.
Unde sarbatoriti?
Nicaieri! Asta a fost tot.

“Toata lumea a innebunit!”

Toata lumea a innebunit!
E adevarat?
Stii ce le-am facut in seara asta (n.r. - miercuri seara)? Cind m-au intrebat iarasi cind plec, le-am raspuns: “Acum!”. Si am plecat acasa. (Ride)
Ronald Koeman ti-a reprosat ceva?
Nimic. Are incredere in mine.

In this interview, Cristi says that he was extremelly happy for winning 3-0 against PSV (the first time ever on ArenA). He also said that the rumors appeared in newspapers that he said that he cannot learn anything new and that he wants to move are totally untrue. He was quite mad at journalists for that.

P.S. Cristi was considered the best player of the match. ;)

Chivu's agent (Giovanni Becali) told a national Dutch newspaper that the chance that Chivu leaves Ajax for an Italian club is 75%.
Chivu has a minimum fee release clause of $25 million.
Inter, Juventus, Parma, Manchester United and Real Madrid are interested.
to patrick kluivert

hello Ajax fan from Ajax forum !

Chivu should leave Ajax for a bigger European club.

??? Caveman, Kluivert wasn't debating whether Chivu SHOULD stay or leave…He was simply wondering whether the rumours were true
Well, I did ask you wether he should leave or not. It is clearly caveman's opinion that Chivu should leave.
I'm going to agree with caveman on this. Chivu has matured so much and has become such a great deffender, hell he's even the captain of Ajax. I don't think there is a lot of grouth potential there anymore, he needs new and tougher challenges. I'd definetely like to see Chivu in a bigger league. Personally I'd love Chivu to make the move to Spain.

Oh I see....My apologies Caveman :)
I told you those hungry journalists are putting words into his mouth.

Kluivert, Becali might as well speculate to raise his price. He has done that before. Or, the newspapers might as well made that up, just like with Chivu. It happened before.

Hopefully, before Chivu will leave Ajax, Koeman will teach him how to take a world class free kick. ;)

I hope Ajax will get more Romanian youngsters. There is plenty to choose from.

Real burns Inter on Chivu

How about Radoi? Is he worthy to be the possible successor of Chivu as a central defender? I only know him from CM and he rulez in that game and since CM is usually right about talents...
