..in Serie A was in 2007-08.

One of the biggest mysteries in life.

Or maybe not considering he plays for Juve.

Chiellini is your basic scumbag. Italians think he's this fantastic defender, but he gets schooled in every major int'l tourney, where he isn't given the freebies he enjoys in Serie A, unlike DeRossi and Mexes and others.

No, I'm saying the subject is Chiellini's ability to get away with things, while other players called dirty in this thread do not get away with half.

Mexes, Chiellini, De Rossi, in no particular order. I'm probably forgetting some "butcher" from the smaller teams, but these three definitely make the top 5, maybe even top 3.
totti's up there with de rossi. two roman scumbags.

that was a little too much…

But yes..Totti can be a hot head.
totti's a coward. he kicks players in the back because if he tried to do something face to face, he'd get his ass kicked.

I don't know where you're from ForzaNapoli…but for sure not from Napoli…or else you wouldn't be talking about "model citizens". No your place and really…shut up. Take it from someone who actually LIVED in that city.

Rossonero..don't be a retard. Seriously…you're another one…pot calling the kettle black or whatever this shit english phrase is.

Never got it with this guy. Constantly exposed at higher levels. Found his level in Seria A I suppose.
He doesn't have the talent, or the intelligence to be considered a great, but he's not really schooled or constantly exposed at higher level.

His performances are often related to the formation the coach is using. A two men central defense, when he operates in a tighter space in the box, doesn't see much of the ball at his feet and he isn't put often against faster and smaller wingers or attackers, makes him almost unplayable for the rival strikers. In this formation he made a name for himself and played his best matches, like the previously mentioned match against Spain or his duels with Ibrahimovic.
In a 3 men wider defense his weaknesses are much more exposed. Not only his clumsiness with the ball becomes obvious, but he has wider space to defend and he's put against faster players.

On the topic, it's made to look as if he's getting a free pass in serie A, while internationally he's a red card magnet and someone who's always outplayed. That's not true, of course, at least the second part of the sentence. He's rarely outplayed, and the only one who can brag that he owned Chiellini is Drogba. Also, he got only two red cards in Europe or for the NT in +110 matches, and the two were against the same Drogba and against Cristiano Ronaldo running full force on a counter. Perhaps if he gets to play against players like Drogba and Ronaldo in serie A, he'll be exposed and get his reds.
