Anyone here play this game? I imported it from ENGLAND...it rocks! The premise of the game is that you are the manager of the team and you run the day to day operations of the club...training schedules, contract, selecting line-ups, scouting and so forth. On matchday you don't actually play but you see commentary on what is going on and you make the subs adjust the tactics and so forth. THe game is amazing! In my second year with Porto I won another title (making it 7 straight for the Dragons), captured 2 Super-Cups, won the FIFA World Club Cup and got to the CL quarters were I was eliminated by Parma 3-0 on aggregate. I fully endorse Marcoa's recommendation - it's absolutely superb. What really makes it is it's realism. You don't need graphics of the game - the commentary is gripping and more exciting, like listening to football can be more tense than watching.

Marcoa, which players have you bought / sold as Porto. Playing as Sporting i bought Ronaldinho to play left wing and won the title by 3 points from Porto. The computer manager generally sells Jardel to Inter fairly quickly for £18 million and buys Silva from Braga who does very well for Porto. In the season i played above Jardel scored 50 goals and Porto beat us 3 times head to head - including 3-2 at the Alvalade, the winner coming on a Jardel dive and converted penalty. Let me know about any good players you've discovered.

CM 99/00 rocks! its better than CM3 (and thats an achivement) hey Marcoa,dont worry about being eliminated from Parma,they are arguably the best team in the game,they RARELY loose the title in Italy.If you want you can go to www.cm3.com and download an editor which will allow you to update the game by editing the players and transfering them.

Some of my other CM highlights were as follows:
beating Barcelona 1-0 in Barca
beating Lazio 2-1 in Rome
beating Benfica 8-2 at Luz!!!!!!!!!!
beating Boavista 6-2 at Bessa!!!!!!!!

Selling Jardel for 27 million Pounds to Real Madrid and then watching him flop in an overly talented Real side that now includes Luis Figo.

Gil Vicente has now appeared in 2 straight cup finals and has won 1 of them beating Boavista 1-0.

Its really fun! I love this game!

I have unearthed a few gems:

Adilson (Brazil)
Deco (Porto...heh heh)
Alexander Radchenko (Ukraine)


but I know for a fact that the best player in the game is Javier Saviola (Argentina)

This is what i call a game.It has all these mad features like FINING PLAYERS,Giving Them Nicknames...

ETC

Beautiful game
but u must have soccer knowledge...

I don't know much about CM3, But i've been a big fan of the game since, it's introduction. CM2 was pretty impressive compared to the first one. I can't wait to see CM3.

Players to buy in cm2 - Peter Prospar (trinidad), James Flood & Ian Moore (stockport), Robbie Keane, Ulric Balling and Susjiarna (croation goalkeeper) - spelling is not entirely correct but close.

until i get CM3 i'll continue playing CM2, does anyone know of any cheats for the game.

Yeah CM99/00 is a great game. Don't you just love it when you get a goal dissalowed in the last 5 minutes of the game :)

I would recommend buying the following (providing you have the funds):

Edgar Davids
Javier Zanetti
Roberto Carlos

There are lots of cheats, but I personally don't use them because it takes the realism out of the game. E.g. Get your striker to mark the opposition's goalie - and he will score bags of goals

Sounds cool! Somebody help me out here I want to get started but don't know where to start!.....Thanks...can I still use Sporting even though someone else has the team if not I'd like to use Santa Clara!

I seen it but how does it work? I seen that you have to pay money and I don't know pounds I know American dollars? How much is 19.99 pounds???....thanks!

Actually I just finished playing about 5 minutes ago and I must say that it is really fun. I just got promoted with Millwall from D2 England to D1. 1 more level to go to reach the premiership. Right now I am in my off-season and am seriously going out and siging some quality players to help achieve my goal of playing in the UEFA Cup ASAP. I am going to try to sign ex-england international Grahme LeSaux and gonna make a bid to get Irish international Phil Babb, I also want some experience in my squad so Aloisio is also considering coming to finish off his career in England...perhaps he can learn some english. My current goalie is Peter Enkelman (Finland) is really solid. I also have a couple of future stars in my squad, Espen Grina (Norway) and Tommy Tyne (England).

Also Porto just won the CL beating Barcelona in the final 1-0 thanks to a 54' Paulinho Santos volley from outside the area (thats what the match commentary said), and Porto did it without Jardel who was suspended for the match. Jardel led all CL scorers with 11 goals.
