Messi really destroyed Asamoah in the buildup

Great first touch by Suarez. Bit slow of Godin, but it was also really unexpected move how he layed up for himself, clever Suarez.

Took a world class save from Stegen to prevent us from leading 0-2 and a world class equalizer from Suarez to bring Barca back into it.

That's that.

Same points as a 0-5 loss

Just that the team is physically shattered for Juve....

Joint bottom of group... Dortmund made short work of Slavia. CL looking a bit pointless now.

There was probably some fatigue in the second half from us.

Meh, what a shame, pretty good performance. I feel we'd have a better chance if we'd kept Sensi on. Barella was pretty miss and already on a yellow, should have been sent off at the end to be honest.

Same points yes but a 0-5 is a historic humiliation. Not quite the same thing.

Anyhow Conte was not signed for the CL..

Getting 4 points against Dortmund always looked like the most plausible way of advancing from this group. So I won't cry just yet, it doesn't look easy though.

What a shame after such a great performance. Barca not creating much really, 1st goal came out of nothing and from abit if brilliance. Second goal was really our only mistake and we got punished.

Ahmed was 100% right. Better off playing an understrength team for an automatic loss like this.

Barca never drop points at home unless they can afford to.

The team's fitness will now be awful for Sunday night...

I was thinking to rest players for this match and focus on the league. Conte might have thought the same thing but there's no way people would let him do that.

Have to say though...the way we played the first half...it's pretty impressive. Especially when you realize that Conte has just come in.

EDIT: Should also mention that Brozovic was exhausted for this match. We'd have done better if he was fresh.

Would've been better, yeah.

Juve had a cakewalk on Tuesday.

In the CL you basically concede for each and every mistake you make. That's how it works. If you don't then you are 2019 Spurs or Treble Inter and get to the final/win the thing. But in nearly every other case you concede and get knocked out

Fantastic performance and this will hopefully give us the confidence for the rest of the season. It may mean we lose at the weekend, the team was shattered by the 70th minute but I think that performance will be positive over all.

I don't agree with taking a loss because it's Barca away, that's really small team mentality. We're not in a position were even losing at the weekend will be much of an issue for us.

We played like this Inter should against any top level team, cautious but ready to show our football when the occasion arises.

What a ****ing waste of a good performance. Boys ran themselves into the ground and for what?

I should have placed a bet at half time.

For a lot of the first half, the Camp Nou was deadly silent. It's really strange to watch a match like that...you could hear a pin drop.

This is complete loser mentality and why Inter didn't beat Slavia in the first round of group games. This is also the reason why Lazio managed to create so many chances against Inter last week and the result would've probably been a whole lot different if Immobile started..

Sides that become champions DON'T CHOOSE when they're going to play the best team and not. They compete in every game, every situation..

The foundation of a winning side is built when they compete twice a week, not just once and with a bunch of results like the one yesterday but also a lot of positive ones. This is why Empoli almost knocked out Inter of contention to play in the Champions League in the final game of last season, this is why Inter lost to Eintracht Frankfurt in Europa League last season.

Luckily for Inter-fans there's one guy that knows this and that's Conte.

Inter were excellent for a good 65-70 minutes yesterday. The next step is to take the chances.

It should be mentioned that FCB missed Alba (crucial to their attacking game), Messi just came back from injury and Busquets seems to be playing with some sort of injury but Inter have something very positive to build on.

We didn't beat Slavia because of XT posts? Lazio created chances because of red? :googly:

Conte is a good coach who won at juve and Chelsea but he hasn't won anything in Europe with either.

Inter signed him to be competitive in Italy - to aim higher than merely finishing 4th - so that is the target. CL would be a bonus.

Naturally you can't go to Nou Camp and field 11 backups, but perhaps 2-3 players should have been spared for juve on Sunday.

Our chances of a result in Milano against juve are better than getting anything from Camp Nou, a ground where a more successful coach than Conte - Mourinho - lost twice with Inter without barely creating a chance. A ground where Liverpool lost 3-0 last season.

Btw I don't see what point you are trying to make by mentioning the Empoli/Frankfurt/Lazio/Slavia games. I don't recall anyone saying we should rest players or that those games aren't important. Well there are some fans who don't rate EL (I do) but obviously Empoli last season and Lazio this season mattered to all.

Btw Immobile was there when we qualified at Lazio's expense to the CL.

Even winning Inter sides struggled in some matches, happens. The Inter of Mourinho lost 4 games in Serie A in the Treble season, including 3-1 from Catania.

Rotation is a must, otherwise you have unhappy players on the bench and tired players starting. Then when it's time for the tired to rest, if you don't rotate, the backups will be rusty..

Facing a fresher juve will be very dangerous and difficult for us.
