Alberto Cavasin has rubbished claims that he’s had talks over becoming the new Fiorentina boss.
The former Lecce tactician has been linked with the newly relegated club but categorically denied that he’s held any negotiations with the Tuscan outfit.
"I’ve not met with President Ottavio Bianchi. I did go to watch the Fiorentina – Lazio game but that’s it," said the ex-Cesena tactician.
"I went to the Chievo game on Sunday but no one has asked me whether I will be coaching them next season."
The prime candidate to take over for the 2002/03 campaign is Palermo boss Bortolo Mutti. But there have been other candidates for the job, including Brescia’s Carlo Mazzone.
"I can’t really comment on the rumours," said the Roman. "It would obviously be great to one day go back and take charge of Fiorentina. And you should never say never."
Another man linked with the post is Reggina’s Franco Colomba. But he too has been cautious when commenting on the speculation.
"It’s obviously an honour to be spoken about in the same breath as a club like Fiorentina but I need to just concentrate on my side and promotion at this moment in time."
