France has just beaten South Korea 3-2 for his last preparation match... but I must admit France really sucked despite victory.

Our defense has weakened undoubtedly and there is no more the automatism which made this team so competitive.

Morevover, Zidane has been injured (muscular problem seemingly) and we still don't know if he will be able to recover for the first match against Senegal.

Pires, out since a long time, is a player that will be very missed during the World cup.

I am afraid we won't go very far in this World cup, I even don't know if we are able to reach 1/8 finals (ie finish at least 2nd from our group).

I am very pessimistic and I DON'T THINK FRANCE WILL WIN THIS WORLD CUP.

I am sure all French bashers are happy of that...

Anyway, our team deserves respect for what it has achieved (ie WC, Euro and conf cup) but every good stories has an end...

We could be the underachievers of this World cup (just hope I am not right...)

Allez les bleus, let's fight till the end!!!

PS: I have created a copy of this thread in the World cup forum. As the world cup forum is more visited than the French forum, It could be interesting to check what it is said there by clicking on the link below:

I really wonder which idiot can give his 100% a week before the WC in the friendly match that gives him nothing.
I watched that game too, and, yes, France sucked like s*it. But still, being one of the biggest France non-supporters, I have to say that FRANCE can SURELY WIN THIS WC, but I hope they don't.

Zidane's injury isn't that serious. So I don't think it worth being worried. And about Pires, yes, of course he will be missed a lot. But I think that Henry can play in his position and can really replace him.
In my point of view the biggest problem of France is a central defence. I doubt they play as well as they did in past .

I think this match prove three things

=> There's no more little teams, and these weak nations can beat any nation in its preparation phasis
=> The french central defense is in difficult against small and rapid attackers
=> French team (and i think other great nations too) isn't ready yet, they'll be ready for the 1/4

I think the South-American nations will be more fresh than European teams, i think Argentina or Brasil can do something

almost every major powers had huge difficulties to win their friendlies this week.
i think the conditions they had to face (meteorological, jet-lag, heat) still make them dizzy and they'll be better as you said peprout for the 1/4 finals. but will they reach them ?

of course there 's no small opponent. everybody there deserves to be there. but france didn't respect today's opponent for me, they have to accept the "overmotivation" of each opponent, the physical challenge they face : djorkaeff, dugarry, leboeuf, desailly were always bemoaning when vieira, thuram and makelele were always missing their tackles and were more looking to break a jaw or a knee than to concentrate on their tasks...
for me, it was a poor image of the world champions. it is not the first time they bemoan like on the pitch and in the medias : against russia, they were all saying with lemerre himself that russians were too severe and playing with too much intensity (?!), against belgium, it was due to unsufficient motivation (?!), tiredness, bad luck (?!), now sagnol insinuates that koreans were doped...
very disappointing to use such crappy arguments ...

but the most worrying thing is les bleus seemed disorganized, were badly communicating between them or even not, slow, making huge mistakes...very strange for those who are famous for being a strong united team. their next opponent will be more confident to face them. for me france shows too much weakness and will no longer fear anyone and inspire respect if they keep on complaining like that with their divas attitudes.
and the worst thing for them is that they have no coach : they only have a "groupie" !

i read it on football365.fr (but i can't find the article again, the title was "corée du sud-france vu par les Bleus"), sagnol said : "c'était impressionnant. on aurait dit qu'ils avaient doublé de volume physique depuis la coupe des confédérations. je ne sais comment ils ont fait mais... etc, etc"

It is now official, Zizou won't be available for The first mach against Senegal, neither against Uruguay...

The Sky is getting darker and darker over the French team...

We are still expecting more news concerning his availability for the other encounters but no one can predict what the doctor will tell us on the tuesday meeting planned concerning Zizou's injury.

If France win against Senegal and Uruguay, there are few chances that Zidane would play against Denmark (even if he had recovered ).

On the other hand, if we had lost one of those matches... I will pray for Zizou to be fit and fielded against Denmark as it would be crucial.

Now, it is time to pray... because Micoud or Djorkaeff... it is really not the same. I would have prefered Carrière... Roger is so stupid for not having brought him to Japan and Korea. :groan:

ouf ! j'ai cru que j'étais le seul !

sur football365.fr...

Passer le premier tour, déjà…
27 mai 2002 - Dominique GRIMAULT

TEMPSPORT

Personally, I don't think that the competition will be completely dominated by one team, I think that 4 or 5 teams have a shot. But I think of all of them, France is the best equipped.

after that first game, it makes me wonder why some of those players are there.

Barthez, lebouef, petit, Djorkaeff come to mind. i mean the likes of zidane, trezeguet, viera, henry, thuram are brilliant, but seeing the others play is very funny. why the hell is candela on bench!

i would love to see this team:

rame
candela thuram christanval lizaruzu
wiltord vieira zidane dugarry
trez henry

that team looks good to me, better than the other night.

And i think Micoud would be a better player than djorkaeff.

Allez bizzzzz'

Rogerre Lemerre should have been less stubborn and given my boy Stephane Dalmat a chance because he is world-class, I have talked to Jimmy about this and alot of people seem to think Djorkaeff and Micoud deserved a spot and now everyone of the French fans think Youri suck.

Dalmat should have been Pires's number one replacement, not to mention the starter for the team right now. :depress:
