France has just beaten South Korea 3-2 for his last preparation match... but I must admit France really sucked despite victory.

Our defense has weakened undoubtedly and there is no more the automatism which made this team so competitive.

Morevover, Zidane has been injured (muscular problem seemingly) and we still don't know if he will be able to recover for the first match against Senegal.

Pires, out since a long time, is a player that will be very missed during the World cup.

I am afraid we won't go very far in this World cup, I even don't know if we are able to reach 1/8 finals (ie finish at least 2nd from our group).

I am very pessimistic and I DON'T THINK FRANCE WILL WIN THIS WORLD CUP. :(

I am sure all French bashers are happy of that...

Anyway, our team deserves respect for what it has achieved (ie WC, Euro and conf cup) but every good stories has an end...

We could be the underachievers of this World cup (just hope I am not right...)

Allez les bleus, let's fight till the end!!!

Could this be true...a French fan showing humility? I don't believe it!

Seriously hypno, the French have back up but they won't be the same without Zidane in the line up. Forca Zizou! Let's hope he gets well soon.

It is now official, Zizou won't be available for The first mach against Senegal, neither against Uruguay...

The Sky is getting darker and darker over the French team...

We are still expecting more news concerning his availability for the other encounters but no one can predict what the doctor will tell us on the tuesday meeting planned concerning Zizou's injury.

If France win against Senegal and Uruguay, there are few chances that Zidane would play against Denmark (even if he had recovered ).

On the other hand, if we had lost one of those matches... I will pray for Zizou to be fit and fielded against Denmark as it would be crucial.

Now, it is time to pray... because Micoud or Djorkaeff... it is really not the same. I would have prefered Carrière... Roger is so stupid for not having brought him to Japan and Korea.

The best news I heard was that he'll miss atleast 1 game while most reports say 2 games.

I haven't heard anything that he'll miss more than 2 games. Apparently he's had this thigh muscle injury before so Zizou knows how long it should take.

My prediction: he'll sit out the game against Senegal.

I think they will cruise through the group stages with/without ZZ but they will have a tuff time going past Eng/Swe/Nig (cuz Argies are going to finish first;)) They will go to the quarters in the end but somehow I get the feeling they will goof up against Brazil and let the historic Argie-Brazie semi take place:cool:

Despite all these "bad" news that have occured in the past few days, I am still optimistic of our team's chances. Moreover, the team's doc said that Zizou may be back as early as in the 2nd game against Uruguay, which is a big great news. For us to be great again, we need Lemerre to wake up and realize a few crucial details:
1) in defence, put Thuram in central defence alongside Marcello, put Candela or Sagnol in the right in place of Thuram and put Leboeuf where he belongs, the bench, if not the stands.

Even without Zizou, we have a more than good enough team to take care of the first round, and then, when the real thing begins, then Zidane will be ready and so will France be.:cool::star:

the sooner blatter's gone the better. He is a legacy of Havelenge's nefarious regieme, and needs to be dismissed as soon as possible.
