In the Australian-Serbian newspaper 'Novosti' a while ago,there was a small article on a free-kick competition between Mihajlovic and Roberto Carlos.
It stated that Roberto Carlos agreed to compete against Miha in a free-kick dual. Miha gave Roberto Carlos the choice of where and when. And guess where he chose, Belgrade, and the famous Marakana stadium. Roberto Carlos also said that the money raised will go to benefit the children in Yugoslavia. Roberto Carlos added that he was looking forward to the competition and hoped that many people will go to watch. A date was not released.

Now, can anyone confirm it? Since that article was published I haven't heard a thing about it, but I sure hope its true.

My next question is who'd you think will win. As much as I love and respect Roberto Carlos I'd have to say Miha, on his day, can be unstopable (I hope I spelt it right). My money is on Miha, but goodluck to both.

I thought that it was really nice of Roberto Carlos to choose Belgrade, given he had the choice of playing anywhere else. And that the money raised will help the Yugo kids. Now that a nice guy.

And as for your post... Its really hard to say who will win... Both have different styles.. Miha prefers the nice curly chip while Carlos goes for the powerful low curly shot... Adv. of Miha's way is that if he gets it right it is impossible to save the ball because he puts it in a very hard to angle to reach... Adv. of Carlos's way is that it is really powerful, even if the keeper gets to it it will be hard to stop it... However I think Miha's style is more effective because he actually knows where the ball is going.. While carlos just chooses some area and shoots strong there, but he does not exactly know where it is going and the proof is that lots and lots of Carlos's Free kicks hit the wall right ? I think he means to kick it just to the corner and passing beside the wall but he does not put too much concentration as Miha does thats why he fails more to score from free kicks..

Update me if this competetion is ever going to take place

I've heard of Sinisa talking about that but nothing official really, it would be very interesting even though I think Sinisa would come out as winner quite easily...
But you're right, if it's true, then it was a really nice gesture from Carlos

But how would they compete? Would they actully bring in a real team & goalie?

BTW/ Sinisa would clean up in this compatition...

I think they would shoot from certain angles and whoever gets the most in is deemed the winner, but I'm not too sure.
