What I can add for teh Oldest and Most loved Bulgarian team is teh record of my childhood. Record which makes us all proud, but also record which proves how much we have suffered during the (still going) "reign" of teh two "big" communist Grand Teams from teh capital - the Army CSKA and teh Police Levski Sofia. Botev in the 80s: Once 2nd, 5 times third, once 4th. Never ALLLWOED to become a champion. Still holds the record for teh best attack force in Bulgarian Championshps.

Botev Plovdiv is found in March 1912 from a group of students from The First graduating school. The club several times changes his name: Botev, DNV (1947-51), DNA (1952-57), SKNA, Botev (1957-1968) and Trakia (1968-1989). Now the name is PFK Botev Plovdiv. The club is one of the best known clubs in Bulgaria. Many great Bulgarian football players had played in it. Most capped players of the team in "A" PFL was Dinko Dermedzhiev (447), Viden Apostolov (429), Petar Zehtinski (351), Kostadin Kostadinov (349), Dimitar Mladenov (347). Most goals scored for the team in "A" PFL: Dinko Dermendzhiev (194), Kostadin Kostadinov (106), Atanas Pashev (100), Antim Pehlivanov (89), Georgi Popov (83). Since the day of its birth Botev has been twice champion ( 1929, 1967) and twice cup winner (1929, 1962) and nine time has reached the finals of the cup (1947, 1956, 1963, 1964, 1984, 1990, 1991, 1993, 1995). The team stadium is "Hristo Botev" with capacity 25 000 seats. As many other teams there are eternal enemy clubs - Lokomotiv Pd and Levski Sofia. Some of the biggest victories are against these teams-08.7.1962-Levski Sofia-Botev Plovdiv 1:6; 27.8.1988-Lokomotiv Pd-Botev Plovdiv 0:5; 30.8.1995 -Lokomotiv Pd-Botev Plovdiv 0:5. Other big wins are against Slavia Sofia-twice 6:0,Beroe Stara Zagora--8:1 - the same year Beroe with the wicked help of Levski and Slavia became Champions, Botev was 2nd. We beat teh Champs 8-1!!!

YES, he did! In 81 or 82, I think. Then he moved to CSKA> There is still a place on Hr Botev stadium, just on the right side from the penalty box called "Slavkova Poliana". He couldnt miss from there. :proud:

Nothing personal of course. I like the way she post and so on, but that little mistake from her was unacceptable.

yeah, the champs. levski and SLavia made you champs. Beroe of that season was probably the 1st team to start buying games and fixing and so on. before that CSKA and Levski have done it with communist based powers. This season you opened up the gates of hell for BG football. Corruption came from you and that’s why you have to pay your sins over the next 15 years ... Botev was by far the best team in the country. Nasko Sirakov in an interview has openly said that Levski let Beroe win cause they didn’t want to see Botev champions. That 8-1 (I was at the stadium) is one of many proofs how wicked and corrupted your title was. Somehow all your "stars" led by Mumum Kashmerov (or sth) disappeared immediately after and never made it even to Sofia clubs. Nada, zero ...

I do apologize for making you think about the beginnig of the corruption-era in the bulgarian football which starts obviously as you say with my hometown FC Beroe and letting so disturbing feelings arise in your inner self.

go meditate while we're paying for our sins, brrrrrrrr.

Janchovski was the man who invented "setting up" and "buying" matches policy in Bulgaria. That's how he won. That why Beroe and its players didn’t do anything before or after the title year. While Botev had a decade of 8 top 3 finishes, several of its players had decent NT careers and several of them played in Sofia too. Some of the Botev players of that time are still well remembered everywhere around Bulgaria. None outside of SZ remembers a single name from that winning team. Unlike any other championship team of the last 20-30 years, including the non-Sofia champions like Etar and later on Litex.

20 min from the end the results is 0-1 Plovdiv and two Plovdiv players are down and the Bolton players did not care to send the ball over the line and the reff did not do a jack shit and the players where down for 45 Sec and in that moment bolton score....
