There will be no surprises in the final standings' top three, I think. Ludogorets, Levski and CSKA-Sofia were the only ones who spent money for transfers. Ludogorets underwent some rejuvenating of their team; they bought players mostly from the French and the Israeli league, mostly of Black African descent, of which striker Mavis Tchibota (Congolese, ex Bnei-Yehida) looked really impressive pre-season. CSKA-Sofia brought in a bunch of obscure Brits :)surprise:), plus Italian MF Diego Fabbrini and Spartak Moscow youth product Denis Davydov. Levski changed ownership, manager and virtually their whole team. They said they would mostly rely on Bulgarians and develop youth along more experienced players. Their most impressive transfer seems to be FW Deni Alar, on loan from Rapid Wien with a buying option. (He got injured and is missing their first Europa League games tho). While changing so much is always a risk, I think Hubsi will not fail and will get immediate results.

Also, two of the newcomers, Arda and Tsarsko Selo invested heavily and might cause surprises here and there. Tsarsko Selo seem to apply the Shakhtar/Ludo model, by bringing in quality Brazilians: DF Gustavo Carbonieri (from Atibaia), MF Everton Dias (from Luverdense) MF Wesley Natã (from Chapecoense) and FW Anderson Cordeiro (from Taubaté), the latter impressing quite a lot pre-season.

CSKA-Sofia signed one more obscure Brit, 23yo winger Viv Solomon Otabor, who comes from Birmingham.

I wonder what is wrong with these Brits. Are they preparing for EU passports or what?

Most impressive summer 2019 transfers by club so far (IMHO):

Arda - Rumyan Hovsepyan
Beroe - Zoran Josipovic
Botev Plovdiv - Rodney Klooster
Botev Vratsa Hristo Zlatinski
Cherno More Ismail Isa
CSKA Sofia - Diego Fabbrini (would love to say Denis Davydov, but dont expect him to get much playing time at the beginning)
Dunav - Hennadiy Hanyev - a GK with an impact in his previous club
Etar - Nikola Kolev
Levski Sofia - Petar 'Hubsi' Hubchev
Lokomotiv Plovdiv - Georgi Iliev
Ludogorets - Mavis Tchibota
Slavia Sofia - no idea, may be the return of Andrea Hristov from loan in Italy lower divisions
Tsarsko Selo - Anderson Cordeiro
Vitosha Bistritsa - no idea, but who cares. Their patron and honorary no. 9 is there to keep them rolling.
