In a shocking development less than 24 hours ahead of Egypt's first ACN encounter against Senegal,Egyptian national team head coach, Mahmoud El Gohary has boldly gone where no coach has gone before, opting to send Ibrahim Saiid packing back to Egypt.

According to El Gohary, Ibrahim Saiid "Lacks the required levels of concentration, enthusiasm and committment" needed in the Pharaoh camp at the moment. El Gohary talked on about Saiid, claiming that he was "psychologically un-fit for a tournament the size of the ACN", as he is trying to instill a fighting spirit amongst his players, and according to El Gohary once more; "Ibrahim is jeoprodizing that spirit with his lack of committment". Saiid's collegues are reported to have talked to the player, attempting to have him revert from his flambouyant ways, in which according to Egyptian delegation president and EFA treasurer, Hany Abu-Reida, included being late to practises, and an upwardly attitude when it came to his team mates.

This was all announced in a Super Nile Sports preview of the opening Mali v Liberia game, where midfield legend Ibrahim Youssef assured viewers that El Gohary's decision has the full backing of the EFAm headed by El-Dahshoury Harb. Ibrahim should be arriving back in Cairo by tomorrow, after he reached, once again the words of El Gohary; "A dead end".

This leaves quite a vacant spot in the Pharaoh defence, where AbdelZaher El-Sakka will be joined by one of Hani Saiid or Wael Gomaa. This blow to the Pharaoh squad could confirm an underground theory that Saiid's behaviour eminates from a wish not to play alongside El-Sakka, ever since the Turkish based player was blamed for the goal that Egypt had conceeded against Namibia in Windhoek where the teams drew 1-1, when the goal was actually Saiid's fault.
