Porto won 2-0 against Sporting Lisbon in the replay of the Portuguese Cup final.
LISBON, May 26 (Reuters) - Goals from two Brazilians won Porto their 10th Portuguese Cup on Thursday as they beat Sporting Lisbon 2-0 and gained a measure of revenge against the team that have just ended their five-year reign as league champions.

The match was a replay forced by a 1-1 draw after extra time on Sunday.

Sporting, who were without their top scorer, Argentine striker Alberto Acosta, missed repeating their cup and league double of 1982, the last time they won both trophies.

Portuguese international goalkeeper Vitor Baia made a successful comeback for Porto after a two-month absence because of a knee operation, and he has now been called up for the squad for Euro 2000.

Porto put on the pressure during the first half but missed several chances, notably by Brazilian striker Mario Jardel, the league's top scorer.

But another Brazilian striker, Clayton Cruz, opened the scoring in the 49th minute with a shot from an acute angle near the goal line after seeing Sporting keeper Peter Schmeichel stranded in front of the goal and tucked the ball behind him.

In the 73rd, Porto made it 2-0 with a spectacular goal by Brazilian midfielder Deco Sousa from a swiftly taken free kick from 20 metres that gave Schmeichel no time to move.

In the final 10 minutes Sporting desperately tried to get back into the match and even Schmeichel joined the attack for a corner kick.

Sporting ended the game with 10 men after their Spanish substitute Tonito Gonzalez was sent off for a clumsy foul.
