"Brazilian" European Club Team To Watch

1170 Views 29 Replies 16 Participants Last post by  Maturin
Which European team has the best Brazilians, and will be the most exciting to watch because of their Brasilian players?

If youre like me, you watch the european clubs to see your favorite Brazilians shine, and succeed. With one eye on their club play and another on their contribution or possible contribution to the Seleção. A couple of years ago I wouldve said Madrid (Ronaldo, Robinho, R Carlos, Cicinho)

This year, Im nominating Milan.
I will watch them closely, and hope for their success because of Kaka, Dinho, and Pato (not Emerson :lick:). Kaka and Dinho have a lot of potential still, and Pato has to earn a call back to the Seleção.

Anyone else follow europe like this, or am I the only Brazilian that does this?

Yeah, Milan should be interesting to follow. The contrast between Kaka's work ethic with Ronaldinho's should be worth a few chuckles. :D I'm kinda curious about Manchester United's Brasilian "mickey mouse club" as well, with all those kids who were signed so early.
I can imagine Milan have been a club of great interest for Brasilians for quite a few years in recent times. If you look past the current crop including Kaka, Ronaldinho, Pato, Dida and Emerson, there has been Ronaldo, Cafu, Serginho, Rivaldo, Leonardo and if we're really scraping the barrel - Roque Jr. :proud:
Shakhtar Donetsk should be mentioned also, as they list 6 Brazilians in the first team, namely Fernandinho, Jadson, Ilson, Willian, Luiz Adriano and Brandao. I'll make sure I follow them in the Champions League, if they can defend the 2:0 win against Dinamo Zagreb from the first match today.
Chelsea will also be interesting with Felipão, Deco and possibly Robinho.

:howler::thumbsup:
well he learned how to play in Brasil, you just get him because of the money :D

I thought about chelsea, but if Robinho doesnt go there, then Felipao will have a boring team. But Luis Fabiano and Robinho being linked to Chelsea might make Chelsea the team to watch..... interesting.
I don't want to open a new thread but maybe it fits in here : Today we (SV Hamburg) signed your olympic NT defender Alex Silva.
Would be interesting to hear how you rate him. He was called to your NT for the upcomg WC qualifiers, so i suppose he is not that bad...
Can he be a future starter in your NT ?
Previously I held Barcelona and Sevilla high because they played very attractive football with Brazilians
Barca with Ronaldinho,Deco
and Sevilla with Daniel Alves,Adriano,Luis Fabiano,Renato
Now with Daniel Alves gone to Barca
who else has got rid of almost all Brazilians
things are shifting.

Porto has also played beautiful football
but also has gotten rid of almost all Brazilians nowdays
even if they have just gotten a very interesting young forward in Hulk.

In Italy both Inter with Julio Cesar,Maicon,Adriano,Maxwell,Mancini
and
Roma with Doni,Juan,Cicinho,Julio Baptista,Taddei
will be in the top but I never really liked their way of playing
too tactical.

Premier league has been coming strongly
and now also the Brazilians are coming
but I still think that the Spaniards will be strong this year
after getting some confidence of being Euro Champs.

last night I can report of a Fla-Flu collaboration
Former Flamengo forward Souza, scored his first goal for Panathinaikos in the Champions league qualification, nicely assisted by former Fluminense right back Gabriel, with a pin point cross.

Hoffenheim is currently leading the Bundesliga
and they have three interesting young Brazilians
in Carlos Eduardo(Gremio), Luis Gustavo and Wellington Sousa.

CSKA has previously had many Brazilians
but has also gotten rid of many.
Vagner Love will still hold candle in Russia

In Turkey Alex probably will rule.
Fenerbarce has also players like Deivid,Roberto Carlos,Vederson.
By the way Alex just scored in CL qualification and also Luiz Adriano scored for Shakhtar!

In Portugal Benfica Edcarlos,Luisao,Leo,Felipe Bastos,Sinei,David Luiz,Moretto,
mainly a number of interesting defenders.

Curiosity
Otherwise its probably Belenenses whos has the most Brazilians in their squad
20 of 32 players is Brazilian, only 10 Portuguese!, most know players are probably the new Adriano Louzada and Evandro Roncatto.

Otherwise Nacional has 14 of 30 and perhaps most with 7 of first 11, a seveneleven store so to speak.

While I am at it I need to mention
Lyon with Cris,Juninho,Ederson,Fred

and also that Gilberto Silva and interesting Marcelo Mattos
plays in Panathinaikos too.

and Brandao strikes for Shakthar.

Thanks for the compliment! :D

Hulk is indeed very impressive. His goal last week in week 1 was a real cracked of a shot. He might start this weekend against Benfica in the Clasico. Try to catch that if you can.

Joke of the day! :dielaugh:
What do U mean?
There are some interesting defenders in Benfica.
Especially David Luiz who I have heard good reports of
and Sidnei is a potential talent too.
Edcarlos was fairly decent in SP and he´s still quite young.
Luisao, selecao player, had some down periods
but hopefully he can teach the kids some things.
Leo, one of the best left wingbacks in his days in Brasil.

Moretto just one of the listed Brazilians in Benfica so...

Sure he has far from impressed after the WC of 2002 but still
he was arguebly the best central defender in the World Champion team of 2002.
and should not be too much insulted because of what he did afterwards.
He at least was at his best when it counted the most
and I still regard him highly for that.

Btw nice to see Willian score in CL qualification too
I really like that kid as well as Fernandinho.
All Brazilian scorers for Shakthar.

I never knew Portugal had so many Brazilians there.

I like watching Ferne because of R Carlos, I wish he was still at Madrid though.
I will definetly be watching Chelsea. Scolari is trying to have them play brazilian type of game and hopefully Robinho joins in, with Alex and Deco.

I would also watch Manchester City, if Ronaldo joins them. I dont mind sitting in front of my big screen watching Elano link up with Ronaldo. :smileani:
chelsea. but i'm only doing it for felipão. I couldn't care less for robinho.

Same here. Robinho can jump off a bridge for all I care.
lol.... no faith in Robinho huh?

Yes, we have a few...more precisely 149, which represents 33,8% of all players in the top division only.
