Well,
it's coming lads, our first world cup game is round the corner, and probably for the first time ever in my life i am not nervoues about a World Cup game...really relaxed!
Then again, this is the time when a Corinthiano will hug a Palmeirense, a Sao Paulino will hug a Santista, a Botafoguense will hug a Tricolor, when a Flamenguista will hug a Vascaindo, when a Colorado will hug a Gaymista (will you kaiser:confused: :fero: ;) :D ) , when a Sport fan will hug a Nautico fan, whne a Cruzeiro fan will hug a Atleticano etc...etc...etc..... all for one purpose and one reason: BRASIL!!!!;)

Well, about the game. RC already started teasing the turks. I htink they might be a bit worried, even that they can't analyse proper football anymore! The midfielder saying that Turkey has the same skill level as us is probably the most sutpid thing i have read this year in regards to football!

Let's give them what they deserve.... GOALS AND MORE GOALS..... get the ammunition ready... Ronaldinho guacho, Ronaldo, RIvaldo, Denilson, Juninho, Edilson....all ready to hammer those Turks. Let's remember not to waste to much energy..... as RC said: Not more than 40% :dazed:  :D :D :D :D

I voted for a win by Brasil using more than 40% of its power, but that was before I read your inspirational speech! :D ;)

Well, although Basturk must have smoked something funny before saying what he did, I think this will be the most difficult match of the group. Turkey won't be a push-over. But Brasil should feel free to surprise me with a nice goal-fest! :D

Wow your soooo arrogant, its funny. :)

Brazil is the favorite to win the match, but if the team is as arrogant as Roberto Carlos and our friend Ze da Fiel, Brazil could be in for a surprise.

If Brazil uses 100%, they will win, but it will be a tight affair. But if Brazil allows itself to be arrogant, the Selecao could lose this match.

Turkey is an unpredictable opponent. On their day, they can beat anyone and show fantastic football, but they are also capable of disastrous games. Generally it will depend on the Turks' nerves, they sometimes tend to lose them...

My prediction: 2-1 for Brazil

Its rediculous to even come up with this 40% theory, I guess he means the match will be easy...but even so you thrash the team in this situation, you dont slack off and play at a 40% capacity...there on show for the world, if Brazil think they can do it then win 5-0.

Personally i think they will win about 2-0...dont underestimate any team in the world cup...except perhaps England (there crap)

The team shuld have Juninho in midfield instead of Kleberson. With Juninho in the training session today, Ronaldinho, Rivaldo and Ronaldo finally played that football that we all want. I'm believing in this team each day more. With Juninho we get in with class and mobility and also the passes get much better. Let Emerson do the dirty work, hold the full bakcs a litle bit more and let Juninho run the whole pitch and help the triple "R"'s

Brazil will win if they play 100%. I don't think we'll win with even 60% even if we play the Malaysian U-15 squad. It's the World Cup and saying arrogant stuff like that from Roberto Carlos is just giving us a bad name. He better not make more of a tag with that mouth of his as the World Cup goes on or I suggest Big Phil takes action or something.

I am in love with that linuep and I hope that cutting back to 1 Defensive midfeilder and the rumours are true, and it would be even better if Denilson takes poor little Rivaldo's spot. Maybe it'll take 45 minutes for Big Phil to realize Denilson is the better man eh?

Anyways, I think we will be able to defeat them 2-0 thanks to Ronaldinho Gaucho and Denilson scoring two great goals.

Sounds like a good analysis, Viola. I think our team will come out and play well for the first half (maybe even better than the Brazilian NT). HOwever, in the second half, I think Brazil will take advantage of some shortcomings in the defense and score a goal.

I think it will end 1-0:(

That's jes' RC fer ya. He likes to wind up the opposition before any important match. I've lost track of how much s**t he's talked over the years. It's nothing to take too seriously. ;)

Nice to see you here, Deniz! How 'bout some smack-talking? :D

Whats up Ze,I see you are pissing of turkish kebobs.Well,Let me tell all of you something,Turkey is no match for us,they never were and never will.SIMPLE.
A country who plays a world cup every 50 years is no match.Just look at their last 5 games and opponents.I don't think they can handle the pressure of the world cup.I say Brasil wins 2-0 or 3-0.Turkey will play with 8 men in their own half.

btw Ze,I will not hug any Gaymista, but I will hang out with them.I plan to to stay up with food and beers to watch the games with friends.

Kaiser,
Hug a Gremista WOMEN!! Consider yourself luckyoglivingin Porto Alegre andbeing able to hit on them! Once i was in Rio (salgueiro session) and there was this girl with a Gremio top and we were gnonaplay them in the LIbertadores...i just started teasing her with Corinthians and the night went quite well!;)
I wish i was in Brazil now man...... its gonna be now 2 Wc's in a row that i'm away, not being part of that massive party that no other place can match!:(

Cmong back to our opening game. WIth this line up, honeslty and not being arrogant , if we play 50% of what we know we should get aresult. We will not play 100% not even 70% cause the team lacks cohesion. (rememebr this line up has NEVER played together! ) So these turks might be sad about what has been said, but it really ius not being arrogant, but realistic. We will only raise our game when we play France in the quarters. We need to play good teams to raise our game, and it wont be Turkey that will do that......not that i'm trying to undeestimate them, but just face reality.

Can they stop an attack that has the triple "R's" and Juninho?? I very much doubt, even considering that they are not in top form, with the excpetion of Ronaldinho Gaucho!

My tips 2x0. But if Ronaldo and Juninho play well i say 3x0!

U-turn puts Brazil on the attack
Brian Homewood

ULSAN, South Korea (Reuters) - Brazil coach Luiz Felipe Scolari, who has fielded ultra-defensive sides since taking over one year ago, appears set to make an amazing U-turn on the eve of the World Cup and put his team on the attack.

Scolari, the man who last year claimed that playing attractive football belonged to the past, is contemplating sending Brazil into Monday's game against Turkey with one of their most adventurous line-ups in a World Cup match since 1986.

The introduction of attacking midfielder Juninho in place of the more defensive Kleberson, who started Saturday's friendly against Malaysia, has given Brazil a much more positive look.

The prospect has both pleased and stunned Brazilian commentators, who have been left wondering whether hours of listening to the Bee Gees -- Scolari's favourite pastime at the team hotel -- has gone to his head.

The man known as Big Phil, after all, firmly believes that a good team starts at the back.

He has publicly encouraged his players to foul the opposition, once chastised his team for not doing enough time-wasting and has even told the likes of Rivaldo and Ronaldo that they should do their fair share of marking and tackling.

He claims that the exuberant football played by Brazil in the past has no place in modern game and says that all that matters to is to win.

UGLY FOOTBALL

He once said: 'If we have to play ugly football to win, we will.'

In line with this, Scolari has consistently fielded two marking specialists in midfield as well as three defenders and two full-backs. He has stubbornly refused to change despite criticism that the formation is far too defensive.

This week, he has suddenly switched to a much more ambitious formation in Brazil's training sessions and says he plans to use it against the Turks.

Apparently betraying his own principles, Scolari has sacrificed one of his marking specialists in midfield and replaced him with Juninho.

With the creative skills of Ronaldinho in midfield and the Ronaldo and Rivaldo in attack, Cafu and Roberto Carlos attacking down the flanks and Lucio breaking out of defence, Scolari has instantly turned his dour, defensive outfit into one which looks capable of upholding Brazil's attacking traditions.

Scolari, pragmatic as ever, denies a drastic change in strategy and says that, after exhaustive study of Turkey, bringing in Juninho is the best way to win Monday's match.

'We decided that Juninho's characteristics make him the ideal player against Turkey's 3-3-3-1 formation,' he said.

Brazil are now likely to start with Marcos in goal, Lucio, Roque Junior and Edmilson in defence and Cafu and Roberto Carlos on the flanks and captain Emerson doing the dirty work in midfield.

Scolari insists he has not changed his ideology and could go back to his original formation depending on future opponents or if Brazil perform badly on Monday.

Brazilians will hope that will not be necessary.

Well,
You missed 94 then.....it was simpy EXTRAODINARY!
I was 18, had just got my driver's license, my sister was working for this guy that was running for president, the semi final and final we watched at his friends house......FREE LOGAN EVERYWERE. I was almost collapsing in the second half....when Viola came on and started dribbling Maldini, Baresi etc... i almost had a heart attack.
The penalties i said massaro would miss and so baggio..then i fell on the floor and boaut 12 people all jumped on top of me........everybody drunk and crying and i could not breath! It was brill, will remember all my life that day!;)
The traffic after the game was unbeliavable....the horn of my car broke down, the whole country was drunk and kissing everyone.....it was wild! People that you never saw in your life were hugging you!

At least Miami there is loads of Brazilians, and some of my friends are gonna get together at 5 in the morning to do some WC parties.....but it will never be the same!

2006 depending on the situation i might be heading to Germany! SO thecarnival willbe there. If the WC 2010 isin Africa, i'll probabl go and see it in Brazil....if i'm alive that is!

fala ai!!!
im back jus in time for the WC
im in curitiba n it aint no party central for WC here, these people piss me off! how the hell can they not be excited
i missed the WC parties of the last 2 WCs cuz i was in Miami but this time im in Brasil n hopefully by the final ill be in sunny Vitoria-ES ready for the penta n the partays!
but seriously speaking the Turks have a pretty good squad n if we play 40% well get beat, im sure we will win this game but i think its gonna be on a couple of individual strokes of brilliance but it should be enuff...
n on rivaldo if felipao is plannin on usin him later on i think he should jus rest the guy till the quarterfinals cuz denilson has shown he can get the job done (altho he usually plays better when comin on as a sub)...
juninho really hasnt been playin any good for Flamengo this yr, but our crappy football has really been contagious as it also got Juan n Julio Cesar... luckily we are in an "easy" group n we can have the luxury of testing players so i say that if juninho isnt able to nail down his spot against turkey, give vampeta a chance the next game, n if vampeta doesnt impose himself either, jus go wit Gilberto Silva the rest of the way, as he is the only player that has been good ther for brasil this yr... kleberson shouldnt even be there, he is a "club player" who had a couple of good games against really $hitty opposition n felipao decided to stick wit him, but id much rather he had brought djalminha or juan instead of him...

e ze cuidado q gremista so gosta de abraco por tras tche!
