The Brazilian league starts this weekend.

Fluminense x Santos
Flamengo x Atlético
Palmeiras x Vasco
Corinthians x Chapecoense
Cruzeiro x São Paulo
Coritiba x Atlético-GO
Grêmio x Botafogo
Bahia x Atlético-PR
Ponte Preta x Sport
Avaí x Vitória

Fluminense:

They had a good start in the Carioca, the team more organized with Abel Braga. They miss badly their best player, Scarpa who is injuried. Still, Fluminense is a team for middletable.

Flamengo:

They are busy with Libertadores, but they have ambitions to fight for the league. Diego Ribas is injuried but must return soon to add Guerreiro up front. It is one of the favorites, but the team clearly lacks more finishing efficiency and honestly, the defensive back up is very limited. Still, the team is organized and know how to play his strengths.

Vasco:

The team return from second division is not easy. They already changed the coach this year. Milton Mendes has a more defensive approach. The limitation of the group is big, with veterans like Nene and Luis Fabiano leading the group. Honestly, they will be happy to avoid relegation again.

Botafogo

The team is surprising in Libertadores so far, because they are showing a lot of spirit and the team is well oriented by their coach, Jair Ventura. However, the team lacks talent and depth. If they manage to maintain some stability, they will be in the middle table fighting again for a Libertadores spot

São Paulo

A limited group with a newbie coach Rogério Ceni, São Paulo also needs some slap of reality. They should settle their ambitions to fight for a libertadores spot, but the team loses focus a lot when the players and coach talk about fighting for the title. The team is showing no improvement and this promisse to be a hellish year for São Paulo. I would have no surprise if they fight against relegation somewhere in the future.

Corinthians

With Corinthians is the exactly oposite. With a limited group of players, but focused and well organized, the lack of pressure for results helped them to achive the Paulista. The coach Carlile seems to want to keep heads over shoulder. If he manages, it will be no surprise to see Corinthians in Libertadores next year.

Palmeiras

It is easy the group with most deepth and resources, but the team lost organization when Cuca left after winning the league last year. But Cuca is back and he knows how to make a competitive team. Palmeiras is easy the big favorite for the league trophy, but everything depends on what Cuca will do now.

Santos

Santos must be realistic, the good league last year was achived despite their limitation. For this, Dorival needs time to put most of his players on shape, but the aging of Ricardo Oliveira does not help. I see Santos in the middle table, but with capacity to challenge for Libertadore again.

Grêmio

2017 have not been good for Grêmio so far, but the team will pass Libertadores and have more time to organize itself. The deepth of the group is a limitation and Renato Gaucho have a historic of losing control of his groups after a year. However, they do not seem to be a team that will be out of upper half of the table.

Cruzeiro

Much like São Paulo, Cruzeiro has a limited team with limited coach (Mano Menezes). That could be enough to put them in the upper half of the table and fighting for a Libertadores spot, but overated expectations are placing them as title contenter and bringing up pressure for results that should not be there. If they do not dose the fire that is there now, I see this team having another year of speculation with relegation and doubts.

Atletico

The team is crawling, with good improvement last weeks. Yet, there is still the problem of the aged group of stars (Fred, Robinho, Elias, Leonardo Silva, Victor), and the limitation in some places. The deepth of the group is limited, the team seem more suited for cups than league, but will be probally in the upper half of the table.

Vinicius Jr made his debute tonight? I saw the last 20 minutes of the game randomly while browsing, commentators talked like it was, he showed confidence even if he got almost all his ball touches wrong lol.

It is the Globo's media machine trying to promote the kid. He did nothing in the game, even if at the time he came in, Atletico right full back was injuried (will have surgery and will be at least 4 months out) and was the player marking him. Not his fault, but Globo managed to promote the coup that removed the president of republic, trying to sell this flamengo team and their players as something special.

Gremio's 38 yr old right back Moura played 90 mins :nerd2:
With 20 years of 38 years Leo Moura is a garbage player hyped because of his Flamengo years, but he still younger than Buffon, you broken record.

The kid seems a better prospect than the previous Flamengo's hypes and did well at the Sulamericano U-17, but really, usually Brazil goes well and have one or another player that will be among the best players, but how many of those players grow up as a great player? Kerlon, Lulinha, etc. are recent hyped next super-stars. Anyways, it is too soon to dismiss the kid, i can understand his anxiety, the crowd (over 50000) were shouting his name as if he was Neymar.

Corinthians 1 x 1 Chapecoense
Cruzeiro 1 x 0 São Paulo
Coritiba 4 x 1 Atlético-GO
Grêmio 2 x 0 Botafogo
Bahia 6 x 2 Atlético-PR

am3D4wf50ns

Ponte Preta 4 x 0 Sport
Avaí 0 x 0 Vitória

Weekend games:

Botafogo x Ponte Preta
Vasco x Bahia
Santos x Coritiba
São Paulo x Avaí
Atlético x Fluminense
Atlético-PR x Grêmio
Sport x Cruzeiro
Vitória x Corinthians
Atlético-GO x Flamengo
Chapecoense x Palmeiras

Notes: It was a big surprise, but both the audience and the goal average were higher than expected. Seems like the changes in the calendar, stretching Libertadores all year is main cullprint, since the teams playing Libertadores didn't had to use B teams in the league like it was usual in the past.

Buffon is a World Class playa and a keeper while Leo Moura is a garbage playa and a right back.

I dont think even in Italian Serie B u wont find any 38 yr old right back ... fo reasons.

Then again, ther arnt any fast dribblin attackin wingers who can put pressure on wing backs in Brasilian leeg nowadays. Only limited teams who lack talent all over.

Just compare the dribbles/game in last round of big clubs

Real: 13 dribbles (usually >20)
Barca: 13 dribles (usually > 20)
Atletico: 18 dribbles
Bayern: 14 dribbles
Juve: 11 dribbles
Man City: 17 dribbles
Chelsea: 12 dribbles
...

Gremio: 2 dribbles
Flu: 4 dribbles
Fla: 3 dribbles
Corinthians: 7 dribbles
Palmeiras: 4 dribbles

lack of quality and young playas

Why don't you talk about Daniel Alvie's, and not leo moura... A never been.

Get the 38'average player of your league and discuss about him, I dint even know who he is ffs.

Next year brazil will be world champion with Renato Augusto an Paulinho as starters, and tite giving tactical knots on every manager he faces, including the one from your country

Plenty of good games. Wish I knew how to watch in the US legally -- turns out my streams had been filling my laptop wth viruses for years.

Has Conca played for Falmengo yet? When is it planned? Seems very redundant with Diego now that they're out of Libertadores.
