Prosinecki has made a needless rod for his own back by picking Saric and Zakaric over Hajradinovic, Kapic, Kozulj, Prcic etc. on the one hand and Hajrovic, Vrancic, Stevanovic and Menalo on the other hand.

To be honest, the transfer market is doing him a big favour here, because Saric's money-first move to Saudi Arabia and Zakaric's demotion to Teleoptik is giving the BiH coach clear reasons to fade these players out of the squad – as if the awful performances in the first three UEFA Euro 2020 qualifiers were not reason enough.
