Welcome, Ingeone :)

This question is a bit of a can of worms, because a full and proper answer is inevitably connected with a whole bunch of political stuff that Xtratime.org frowns - quite understandably, in many respects - on us discussing here.

What I would recommend if you are interested in this topic is to watch the following BBC documentary entitled Frontline Football. It is presented by Ben Anderson, who is regarded as one of the best young documentary makers in the UK:

I hope that this is of some use to you.

If you would like some recommendations of books on this subject, then please say.

I'll try and compose a list this weekend and post it here. It would be great to see if anyone else has something to add to it.

My apologies for the late reply.

For information about the Bosnian league and clubs, the best place to start is here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bosnian_Premier_League

If you click on the entries for the individual clubs, you will get some ideas as to their history, identity and cultural affiliation.

If you want detailed statistical information on the various league teams on a seasonal basis, the BiH entry in Mike Hammond's European Football Yearbook is well worth a read:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/European-Football-Yearbook-Mike-Hammond/dp/1847322204/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1233054526&sr=1-1

In terms of general reading on the subject of Bosnia-Herzegovina, it is generally recognised that Noel Malcolm's Bosnia: A Short History is the best and most accurate primer:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bosnia-Short-History-Noel-Malcolm/dp/0330412442/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1233054419&sr=8-1

I hope this is of some use to you.
