Yeah, my personal match of the year
This time, I have to betray my German teams, this match is a clear thing for me: Forza Milan all the way
Though I will support the Italian side, I fear Dortmund is the favourite to win it. They are - despite their loss at Stuttgart - in a very good form, their attack is magnificient with Koller who proves to be a valueable player (not a deadly finisher though) and the Brazilian duo of Ewerthon and Amoroso.
These three strikers get deadly passes delivered by Czech super talent Rosicky, the player that rocked the Buli when he arrived last year during midseason.
Their defense seems to be very solid, with the youngsters Metzelder and Kehl, both with good chances to make the WC squad of Germany, the current German internationals veterans Heinrich and Wörns and ex-world class defender Kohler at coachs Sammer disposal.
Lehmann isnt banned for international matches either, and damnit, he in the form of his life aswell
:dazed:
Milan has suffered a lot during this season. An early coach change, and not a good one, a lot of injury probs...
Their best player is still out with injury, Shevchenko, undoubtly the best striker of the world in top form. Rui Costa, their playmaker is still trailing his form, still it seems Ancelotti wont field youngster Pirlo who made a great match vs Parma lately. In general, the match vs Parma gave me some hope
The expected lineups are, according to sport1.de:
Dortmund: Lehmann - Reuter, Wörns, Metzelder, Heinrich - Evanilson, Stevic, Rosicky, Dede - Koller, Amoroso
Mailand: Abbiati - Roque Junior, Maldini, Laursen, Kaladze - Gattuso, Albertini (Rui Costa), Ambrosini, Serginho - Inzaghi, José Mari
So Dortmudn wont field Ewerthon from the beginning, that would be nice
their wing backs are actually prettty lousy, both Dede and Evanilson. Stevic, though, I rate highly, however, I am suprised Ricken isnt expected to play.
Milano... well, RJ on the right :yuck: And no Contra, thats pretty stupid, since Contra would have an easy time with Dede, would eat the kid alive. But it would be great to see Laursen getting some playing time over damn Chamot. Inzaghis return is the most vital thing for Milan, a lot will depend on him and serginho to create pressure on the wing agaisnt the brazilian joke called evanilson
I would, though, like to see Pirlo getting included in the team, maybe even up front instead of Jose Mari.
Anyway, Forza Milan, a tough match, but we are surely not without any chance...
And I will be there
I hope so at least
