I'd honestly rest Barella and play Asllani.

Would sub Gaglia on for Hakan around the 60th minute provided we're winning by then
Asllani for Barella how?

Anyhow you are underrating Bologna, they are 7th-8th, competing with juve for Conference League spot so doing pretty well

While we have destroyed Bologna 6-1 since the infamous Radu match last season, and a big win like that earlier this season served as revenge that I greatly enjoyed, but I'd like another win especially in Bologna. Won't be as easy as the 6-1 for sure though, especially after a tough CL match vs Porto. Also because we will miss 2 starters.

Darmian rcb and Dumfries rwb is fine, and a good chance to see Gosens start.

Not a satisfactory first half from Inter. Improvement required for everyone.

First sub should be Barella for either Mkhi or Hakan at ht.

Not many other options, Dzeko bit later

The players clearly not up for a wet and rainy afternoon in Emilia Romagna
Rain, wind and pitch are no excuse, on both teams. Anyhow Inzaghi may be should say "look this first half was bad, and need I remind you that you lost a Scudetto here last season, wake up"

Disgraceful loss more so because it's against Bologna in particular. It's incredible how we can beat this team 6-1 in Milano two seasons in a row, aggregate of 12-2, yet lose to them twice away! Simply poor.

The goal was so stupid, we just gifted it away (D'Ambrosio), but how is the defence so open after 1 bad pass? Orsolini had acres of spaces. Very poor organisation. Overall we didn't defend well today could have conceded more.

We wasted chances at 0-0 that would have won us the game, mainly Hakan and Lukaku should have done better on the balls Gosens gave them, same for Lautaro on his headed chance in the first half and Dzeko shot straight at Skorupski. So if you don't defend well and can't finish you won't win, simple.

Barella didn't do much when he came on, we can't win when no midfielder has much impact.

The Porto CL game might have had some affect as it was difficult, anyhow the Lecce match was already a must win now it becomes even more important, a week away so no fatigue excuses.

Forza Inter sempre.

Awful performance. The less said about this campaign the better. 7 losses simply unacceptable...
7 losses is basically the number of league losses for us the last 2 seasons (Conte 3 in 20-21 +Inzaghi 4 last season) so it is indeed a lot.

Anyhow as long as he doesn't finish 5th/6th, Inzaghi should stay for 1 final season imo. But 23-24 would be decisive, win the Scudetto or out.

The Porto return leg and the Coppa semis v juve are huge games for sure. For top 4 as a minimum target, some slips along the way can be compensated, but no such mistakes are allowed v Porto in March and juve in April.

Inter should just let Inzaghi's contract run out and spend the time looking for a proper replacement.

He must be one of the most one dimensional coaches I've ever seen.

Too bad that the idea to throw on D'Ambrosio to protect the 0-0 result didn't pan out.
The idea was to push Darmian to rwb where he can contribute more in attack but yeah Darmian didn't do an awful lot and obviously DD effectively cost us a point with his pass so it didn't go well. May be DD being good in set pieces is something Inzaghi had in mind.

Inter are going to lose 10/11 games this season

That is Europa League form

Nothing is even remotely safe/assured re: CL qualification
My bet still on if you want though I normally don't bet

Let's look at the table while trying to ignore how ridiculously far Napoli are

Font Screenshot Gadget Technology Electronic device

Milan, Roma and Lazio lost 5 each, Atalanta lost 6 so apart from Napoli, our losses tally is similar/close to those competing for top 4, and they will also lose other games (most probably Atalanta will lose tonight for example, Lazio will most probably lose at Napoli this coming Friday etc)

I am not happy we are just competing to finish 2-4 but that is the reality of this league season. I don't think challenging for top 4 is hugely motivating for the players but they will do just enough to be there imo

He could've been a useful bench option at least...

De Vrij was taken off as he was on a booking mainly. It's not like we defended well without him in 2nd half.

Inzaghi likes his free flowing midfield, but when you have out of form players and there is no leader to just simplify the play, it makes it difficult to regain control over the situation. Basically, Miki, Hakan, Barella, Brozo are all mids with similar skillsets. Would be good to have a more physical guy in there to break the opposition down and give you guys better counters.
A big black ***** yeah, I wanted Thomas Partey at Inter, too bad.

Atalanta looking awful vs Milan. Should be 2 or 3 down by now and hardly doing anything in attack. Anyone dropping points in this game is good, Atalanta losing means they remain at-6 behind us. Not too fussed whether we are 2nd or 3rd (or 4th, all the same) but we would still remain 2nd even if Milan win due to better GD (mainly thanks to Lazio and Sassuolo destroying Milan 4-0 and 2-5 respectively)

Btw a lot of the points dropped this season were due to stupid individual errors. Easy to blame the coach for everything. Off the top of my head: Skriniar og in Udine, Dumfries og in Monza, Skriniar red card and Onana error v Empoli, Skriniar losing Smalling on a set piece in loss to Roma, De Vrij losing Bijol in Udine, DD today... basic errors really. But Inzaghi also to blame for collective bad defending like the Lazio and Milan losses for example. Anyhow as usual any loss or draw Inzaghi out Suning out, any win no one out 'coz we won', but judgment of the season should only be made end of May (or more like beginning of June, rather).

Think you should start the Lecce thread. Save @stefan9 for Porto

Btw thinking back of the chances we had in Bologna, I believe they were all created by defenders! Not 1 chance created by a midfielder is poor

Still watching Milan v Atalanta and Milan are much better, while Atalanta are simply garbage. Papu, Ilicic, Zapata, Gosens, Hateboer days over. Might be end of the Gasperini cycle there?

I don't think Atalanta will make CL this season. I am far more worried about the Roman teams.

However, I still think Atalanta have done well to discover Lookman and Højlund and they could bounce back next season, especially if Inter continue to decline under Suning.
That's if they keep both players. Might sell one at least if they receive a good offer.

Given our run in schedule sadly I don't think Red is wrong to be worried about cl.
I am usually very optimistic but given we only managed 2 points from empoli, monza,Sampdoria and Bologna. I am very worried about this teams ability to deal with this schedule.

Well lately we are doing better in big games (derbies, Napoli, Atalanta) compared to small ones so it shouldn't be an issue.

Anyhow the Monza game should have been a win if the ref was not an idiot so I would exclude it in terms of Inzaghi’s responsibility. At 1-3 it would be over.
