The NT-break is over and hopefully we can bounce back and get a win after our little disappointment against Lecce.

Bologna are in horrible form and really need some points now. However, they might play the game with caution after they saw Lecce being quite succesful with that.

So what's the team news? Rocchi is not likely to make it but how about Dabo and is Meghni recovering in time? Inzaghi must have pushed Makinwa further down the pecking order by now.

A tricky match for sure.

Bologona has been struggling result-wise too much and they must have prepared for this match.

We must play clever this one and make sure to take advantage of early chances.

(mode "journalist" on):
It should be an easy game for high flying Lazio against crisis struck Bologna. The red and blue team have just won once in the first game of the season and lost all the following games. Moreover, their coach Arrigoni is on the brink of being sacked if Bologna lose this game, whereas Lazio will finally have back two if their most important players, Tommaso Rocchi and Ousmane Dabo.

Hardest game of the season so far. The international break could not come at a wrongest moment. Bologna are going to spit blood on the pitch to avoid their coach being fired, and moreover, as showed against Milan, Lazio are specialist in revitalising out of form teams. Mudingayi will destroy our midfield, he will show us that selling him has been a disastrous move!!!

I think this might be a good time to rest Lichtsteiner and Rozehnal who played for their NTs on Saturday and probably did/will do it today too. The good news that Bologna needs a win badly and will probably not park the bus in front of the net as much as Lecce. bad news, in the last decade we usually sucked in Bologna, IIRC. And early goal would be great.

Rocchi and Dabo should be available, but according to gazzetta.it the forward will not be a starter, so the line up could be the "usual" with a couple of changes on the left, Dabo for Mauri and Kolarov for Radu. Cribari is back after the injury against Torino. Muslera injured, Makinwa in the stands...
I would not be surprised, though, if Rossi will give Pandev some rest and start with Foggia, Rocchi and Zàrate up front, with Goran ready to come in just in case of need.
Christmas tree, again, according to gazzetta.it.

Damned ref, a pass to a player in an offside position leads to handball and a free kick goal for Bologna. We haven't done squat in the first minutes, though.

I thought that was the right call...it's an offside only once the whistle blows, before that you just cannot play the ball with your hand. Pretty amateur mistake from Siviglia.

3-0 Di Vaio, this is over. Does Carrizo actually save balls nowadays?

Dabo seems totally out of sorts. Seems we shot ourselves in the foot by introducing him right after his recovery from his injury.
Just when I was writing this he is subbed...by Mauri. Why is Meghni not even on the bench?
Not that any of our defenders in any better...

Bologna deserved their goals alright, but the referee has no control over the game. His calls and non-calls are very erratic.

Don't really see how any of the goals were Carrizo's fault. Just very crappy defending.

Yes, Carrizo could be blamed only for the third goal and it was the type of shot that almost never gets saved. Shocking defending, though. Why are we never using Radu as a CB again?
Only Brocchi, Foggia and Zarate seem to be really trying. Probably Rocchi for Pandev could be a good move...only because we know it won't be Rocchi for Mauri.

If we don't start taking advantage of our set pieces, every team will leanrn to stop us like Bologna and Lecce - by playing rough, as they risk virtually nothing. OK, we scored after a free kick against Lecce but it was thanks to Stendardo. ;)

Rocchi makes it 3-1! It was probably better to take Zarate out rather than Pandev, since Rocchi and Zarate haven't had the time to play together yet.
