Well Italy will just have to do without him for the 2nd Round

Its a TERRIBLE loss to the team. :depress: He was simply the best player for Italy (defence) in these last 3 matches.

With nesta not completly fit and Maldini not his usual, It is a bad omen for us. Hope these two players can cope without Cannavaro.
And to add to that the 3-4-1-2 formation is a doubt. :nervous:

Lets hope for the best.

Just a question, why have you written "Bloody Cannavaro"

Anyway, it will be a terrible loss. I think we have Materazzi. Lets not judge him by one match. I think the pressure, the situation , and the early introduction might have effected Materazzis play, but he is a worthy substitute, and i think he can play in his position.

i think panucci might play in his position as he plays there for roma i think. I'm sure he does.

Materazzi is a good defender, just inexperienced at such a high level, and it showed against Croatia.

Iuliano has the experience and in form he is great and could handle it no problem. But his season wasnt very impressive, and although i know the WC is different, maybe Panucci would be a better option there. IF he isnt playing great, then make the sub early.

I'm dissapointed about cannavaro, but nesta should be better by then, and never doubt maldini, he is a legend, and legends always prevail to be the best!
