not when you're about though. at that time bergkamp couldn't take penalties to save his life and it's not as if he blasted it over the bar into row Z, it was saved by schmeichel. two late goals is not luck, it's determination and we deserved to win in europe that season even if we weren't the better team on the night. we were the best team in europe that season and i don't think anyone can dispute that.
Do you realise just how stupid that sounds?

We deserved to win even though we wernt the better team?

Determination was only about 40% of that match, the other 60 was pure luck, and Bayern were arguably just as good in europe that season.

2 late goals wasnt luck? Well apparentlyl it was when Liverpool scored them in the Cup Final of 2001.

JLE,United earned their luck that night through sheer determination and will to win.Bayern got into a shell immediately after scoring and relied on the counter attack. They had chances to kill off the game yet failed to do so time and again.Yet United got two chances at the last minute of the game and we made sure that they literally cried:D for those missed chances.

Like Beefy said, there was no doubt that United were the best team in Europe that year.We went to Germany and drew there, qualified from the group of death, were two goals down in Turin in the first 15 minutes yet managed to stage a comeback and still you say that Bayern were equally good that year.:wth::wth:
are you blind or just plain ignorant? over that season we were the best team in europe. over the previous seasons we'd been unlucky not to get further than we did and if anybody deserved to win it it was us.
All Im trying to say is that your treble was completed with a little luck, just as Liverpools was.

My point here is this:

Liverpool win the FA Cup with 2 late goals after being outplayed, and you guys call them lucky, ManUre win the Champions League in much the same way and of course their not lucky at all.

That sunshine, is being blind and plain ignorant.
Arsenal and Liverpool fans are just jealous of our achievement and the only reason Arsenal will most likely win the league is because we threw it away but they have played some great football this season but if we hadn't lost to lesser teams like West Ham, Bolton and 'Boro. But it's still not over just look at what happened on the last day in france and Italy.
i wouldn't call liverpool's victory lucky at all. when you have a player of michael owen's ability againsst you, miss vital chances to bury the game and leave space for the likes of owen to expose your old and frail defense luck has nothing to do with it.
Are you watching Merseysiders
Did I really start this thread?
I must be a bigger genius than I thought!
Anyway, the fact is, as soon as Manure go ahead in a game the chant goes up " Are You watching Merseyside?".
I simply answered that against Leverkusen, yes we were.
25% ( the Blue "half") wanted you to win, and 100% (ie the Red "half") wanted the best team on the night to win, which on both occasions was, Leverkusen.:D
Your chants, by the way, are inspirational. I hope you continue with your Viera/Veron one on Wednesday.:D We shall of course be watching (the highlights) and indeed listening.;)

It seems strange how you critisize Liverpool's treble, when ManUre's was arguably more lucky.

2 last minute goals after being out classed by Bayern.

Dennis Bergkamp missing a last minute penalty.

Takes a bit of luck to win anything, and your futile attempts to downgrade Liverpool's success only proves that in order to communictae, you must first part both cheeks of your arse.
We were the dominant team in the league that year, and no amount of provaricating will change that.

We were the best team in the FA Cup, and beat Arsenal with 10 men if I remember correctly, with one of the best goals you will ever see from the maestro Giggs. We savaged Newcastle in the final for more thoroughly than the Arse.nal managed against Chelsea.

And we were the dominant team in the Champions league final, against a team that scored off a set piece, and then proceeded to defend that lead, in abysmally defence-centric play. Attacking football won out.
what's all this inter-toto crap about rock-head? we've had a better season than you bell-end.
What you won?:D :D
What you won

European Super Cup (v Bayern Munich). Charity Shield (v Manure). Automatic place in Champions League (at your expense).:D :D :D ;)
Super Cup and Charity Shield mean nothing, they are just a charity event. Utd always lose the charity shield so I expected it to happen. And it's also a common known fact that the Champions League winners never win the Super Cup, didn't Galatasaray beat Real Madrid convincingly and so did Chelsea if I remeber correctly.
Who's going to remember Liverpool finishing second this season (except by sad Liverpool fans), All that will be remembered is that Arsenal won the PL playing fantastic football and mindless football loses to genius football but Liverpool fans wouldn't know too much about would they?
How Liverpool FC started terrace chants

It was the Liverpool fans who first adopted - then adapted - popular songs to sing on the terraces during the match. In the old days, fans might have sung songs travelling to football matches or before the game started, but when the referee blew the whistle, they just roared. Liverpool fans adopted 'You'll Never Walk Alone' (as sung by the Liverpool band Gerry and the Pacemakers in the early 1960s) unaltered, but also began to make up their own words to popular tunes.

How Liverpool FC invented Style

When they first went into Europe, a hat, a scarf or a banner from the 'foreign' city was enough to show you'd been there. But in the late 1970s, they began to return wearing expensive, branded sports gear: Fila, Lacoste and others, inventing the 'Casual' style.

And look whats it degenerated to....a shellsuit, pair of trainers, and a perm. Yeah, scouseland's really won the style war with that triumphant trinity of fashion;) :D

Manchester, 30" flares, Benetton top and the Mullet capital of the world!:D
ofcourse, the older set in Scouseville is slightly more discerning...
reports confirm that a flat hat, an oily mack with a pink echo in the pocker and a pair of timsons is still de rigour;)

.....Meanwhile, down under, no discerning Man U supporter would be seen without his life-sized willy-warmer, in the "de rigeur" shape of a sheep!
