The biggest shock was when i found out Holland were not going through!
They have loads of class players like Overmarz...Kluivert...Davidz...Seedorf...Bergkamp...and loads more!
They should have quilified!!!
I am just sooo why they never got through!

Yeh Holland was a major shock but for me Yugoslavia was big as well with our group and us as seeds we really should have saw off Russia and Slovenia but in both cases that lady was not there.

Czech Rep. also a bit of a shock - though they were in the same group as Denmark, I would have liked to see players like Nedved, Rosicky, Koller, Berger, Poborsky etc... at the WC

Why is everybody (still) so amazed by this? It's simple mathematics - lose games, don't qualify.
Besides, if Bergkamp hadn't already retired from international football a few years back, he wouldn't have even arrived in Japan yet, what with hitchhiking across 12,00km.

Scotland were a bit of a shock aswell..but who cares the wouldnt have got through the First Round anyway!

To me Holland not qualifying to the world cup was the biggest shock. I would have loved to have seen Ruud play in the WC and win the Golden boot.
