Real Betis want Internazionale striker Obafemi Martins in the summer.
The Spanish outfit's coach Lorenzo Serra Ferrer has pinpointed the Nigeria international as the man to add greater quality to his squad.

With doubts surrounding Joaquin's future in Seville, Serra Ferrer is desperate to ensure there will still be a big name at the club.

Chelsea and Real Madrid are both keen on Joaquin and there is a heavy expectation that the Spain international will be sold at the end of the season.

To pacify the fans, Serra Ferrer has asked Betis president Manuel Ruiz de Lopera to bring Martins to the club.

"I believe that this club can make a jump in quality next season," affirmed Serra Ferrer.
Martins is enjoying his third season in the Inter first team and he has scored 13 goals in 19 appearances in all competitions this term.

The 20-year-old, though, can not command a regular spot in the starting line-up as his goalscoring record is outshone by that of Adriano's.

Inter are likely to be reluctant to lose Martins but Betis are set to test the water with a bid in the near future as they look to secure UEFA Champions League football.

It had been reported that Moratti has refused a 35m Euro deal for Martins from Chelsea, now how much more is Betis willing to offer to convince Moratti to hand him over? :D

Faisal, are you referring to Chelsea's offer of 35 million Euro, Betis being in the chase? or both?

Hopefully the club's management will not make any mistakes in their dealings with Martins. He has come up through our youth team and he is a true gem. His scoring record speaks for itself.

Management let the likes of Pirlo go to Milan and Cannavaro to Juventus. They can make mistakes with the likes of Favalli and Cristiano Zanetti but hopefully they are seeing straight when it comes to Martins.

The Betis one, The Chelsea one is far more belivable since he is another supertalent.

Because ofcourse he could be sold, But do you really think Betis wouldn't have any competition? Big Big Clubs would be fighting for him

What is wrong with C.Zanetti, Sensi from Roma believed he tricked us with the Zanetti deal but I thought it was a good deal. Even Capello was pretty upset when C.Zanetti left.

Inter are not a club desperate for money and won't sell someone like Martins so easy, especially since past blunders. But no chance of this one.

Moratti would never sell Oba. And I can't imagine Martins would be thrilled to move to Spain, where you hear about rascism every week it seems.
