Probably been posted a thousand times; but who should hold the title?

For me, I believe Hasselbaink is easily the best. Not just a prolific goalscorer (not just a goalpoacher), a teamplayer and a leader...
I've spoken to a few Gooner buddies and they agree... (not to influence the vote) :D

Remember, (and I quote from outside info) He was the top scorer in Spain even tho' his team (Athletico Madrid) got relgated.

It has to be said. Michael Owen is the best of the best. He is an absolute goal scoring machine. He has his off day'a but he has his normal days! Days's where when u get on the pitch, u know a goal is going in sooner or later...

With Nistelrooy around does anyone else even come into the picture??

Ruud is fantastic in playing up front alone, holding up the ball till midfield joins him up front, one of the deadliest finishers and as well as a true goal-poacher.There aint a better player than him inside the box and his aerial ability is also very good.

So Ruud van Nistelrooy all the way!!!!!!!!:)

I voted for JFH, aas I think the way he strikes a ball, it doesn't matter wether hes standing still or running at full pelt, he hits one mean accurate shot.

it's important to remember that these players are all so different, but for me owen is absolutely unstoppable when he's on form. you won't find a better striker in the world.

1 vote for 'Other'; I see the Akinbiyi fan's have spotted this poll...

I tend to base my opinion on which player I'm more worried about when Spurs face thier respective club.

And for me Owen is stoppable (as seen in CL games) and to be fair, STILL only a young man. Van Nistelroy musn't be given space otherwise he's a danger. That would leave Henry and JFH. Henry would scare me if he was more prolific in front of goal (but he is improving). JFH can score from anywhere as it has been mentioned and has a lot of confidence (ability and confidence a dangerous cocktail)...

I'd say Owen on form is the best striker, but he normally goes cold for a few games. Remember Owen is nothing without his pace though...

Hasselbaink gets my vote, he can score from range which strikers like Owen & Ruud can't.

It's quite sad to see that two of the strikers are Dutch and won't be in the World Cup this summer (sad for the neutral fan that is ;) ).

Dead tie between Owen and Henry. Both incredibly agile and fast strikers always creating difficulty for defences.

Van Nistelroy musn't be given space otherwise he's a danger.
I agree. When playing against highly organised defences hes totally shut down but otherwise he does the job more consistently than anyone else in the EPL. However, you gotta play well against the best to be the best, so he aint best.

JFH scores some long range beauties and is the specialist in that category of goalscoring.

I've started to doubt in Van Nistelrooy's abilities lately:)D:eek:), I've seen him unsure before the goal several times, the midfield (esp Giggs) doing the job for him- of course if I trusted the stats I'd just have to vote for him... But I go with Thierry.;)

What about the legend that is Alan Shearer.... the man's a star and he still scores even after losing over 2 seasons worth of action in the last 6 seasons. The man isn't bettered by anyother British based forward at the current time, although, Hasselbaink would be my second choice. He quite often wins the Carling Opta forwards competition based on points awarded for certain criteria and parts of his game in each match he plays... Another star...

Owen, yeah right. He is one of the most over rated players in the world. van Nistelrooy and Hasselbaink I would say altough Solskjaer might be the best out the lot. vam Nistelrooy needs one more goal and he will hold the record for most CL goals in a single season. On Wednesday he broke yet another record as he scored more goals than any other Man Utd player in a European season.

Oh sorry, I got a bit carried away there!
he may be the ugliest and most uncompromising but he is a god!:D
Seriously, I think Henry is best.
CHEATING, DIVING, CLUMSY = VAN NISTELROOY
HE IS THE MOST OVER RATED PLAYER EVER !
HE MAY SCORE GOALS BUT HE IS A DONKEY
how many of his goals have been penalties!:D

Van Nistelrooy without a doubt is the best striker in EPL at the moment. I feel Solskaer comes a close second. However, Owen, Henry and Hasselbaink are all class acts too.......:D

Best forward for me is between Henry, Owen and Jimmy... Van Nistelrooy may be the better striker but outside the box he is nowhere near the 3 I just mentioned.

My top 3 would be:

Owen
Jimmy Floyd
Henry
