Worst Match:
1) Valencia vs FC Barcelona (at Mestalla)
Barça lost 4-1 to an exceptional Valencia team. Lopez convinced me of his creative play and conviction as a player.
2) Real Madrid vs Valencia (Final)
Real's 3-0, Valencia, what happened?, Real didn't deserve to win it in IMO.
Best Match:
1) FC Barcelona vs. Chelsea (Camp Nou)
A nerve racking match with all the twists and turns of a great plot. Barça goes up 2-0 to fulfill the requirements to go on but Chelsea scores one to destroy Barca's hopes. Chelsea score the vital third goal but Rivaldo misses a penalty to seal the game. Extra time. And then two goals (one a redemption penalty and the second another header). Simply heart stopping and a wonderful display of football.
2) Galatasaray vs Leeds Utd. (at Elland Road)
The score betrays the sentiments: 2-2. But with everything against them, the public of England, the media, perhaps all of Europe, Gala went into that hostile cauldron and took it to Leeds with the penalty. Leeds equalized but then, perhaps the run of Sukur's season. He didn't even look up to see where the keeper was because he already knew 20 yards away what he was going to do with the ball. And he swerved the shot that sent Istanbul and the rest of the world siding with Gala into a frenzy. It was a great great match.
