Norwich star David Bentley is facing a lengthy time on the sidelines after picking up a knee injury at West Ham.

The 20-year-old, on loan from Arsenal, has undergone a scan and is set to see a specialist after hobbling out of Saturday's FA Cup defeat.

"It's a severe tear of his medial knee ligament," manager Nigel Worthington told the Norwich Evening News.

"He'll see a specialist today when the picture will become clearer, but itcould be anything up to three months." :(

Bentley could return to Arsenal as Worthy and the club may decide to cancel the loan ...

Norwich have been severely hit by injuries to their squad, with Gary Holt, Mathias Svensson, Youssef Safri, Ian Henderson and reserve keeper Darren Ward several weeks away from a return to action.

Now Simon Charlton has broken his toe so is sidelines as well :wallbang:

The relegation-threatened Premiership side have just 15fit outfield players to pick from and are likely to draft in youngsters Jason Shackell, Danny Crow and RyanJarvis for this weekend's match against Aston Villa.

If Worthy can't get 2 new loanees in then Bentley will stillhave a chance of playing for us again when he is back fit towards the end of the season ...
