The pony carrying Reyes' employment licenses apparently has arrived, so I think its' save to say we'll see Reyes taking up wide on the left. Martin's has apparently recovered from his concussion and has been cleared by the team doctor to play Saturday. DiMaria and his sparkling new medal are back from the Olympics, but may not have had enough time to assimilate to Quique's game, so if he's on the bench come game time, it won't surprise. But ideally, we'd see him on the right if we're to put our best 11 on the pitch, such as-

Quim;
Maxi, Luizao, Katso, Leo;
DiMaria, Yebda, Martins, Reyes;
Cardozo, Aimar

Otherwise, expect to see Urreta on the right.

Needless to say, we can not lose points here and start this campaign in such a great deficit this early, although I expect the team to pick up steam as they grow into a team, and instinctively start to apply what they've learned on the chalk board.

we should not stress out over this game, and rather look at it as an opportunity to get ahead of our rivals

thats the spirit with which we have to enter that pitch. THe confidence and joy lacking during the 1st match must ( and will) be present agaisnt porto

i agree with ur line-up, except that i would start with urreta and leave di maria as the joker card in the bench. Even more so because he barely had any time to practise with the team yet, and urreta seems to be linking well with leo

Hopefully this will finally be our year and our chance to start to turn it around and stick it to Porto.

I'll predict a comfortable, 2-0 win for Futebol Clube do Porto. Lisandro and Hulk to do the job.

Oh sorry, I forgot for a moment that I was talking with Mr HeadUpHisArse. :rollani:

Actually it's no wonder that you're not interested to join as according to some very trustworthy sources once upon a time there was a certain XT poster that used to answer by the silly nick of FigoIsGod that was caught cheating on one of XT's PL and got banned from it.

Once bitten twice shy I guess.

What cheating? I participated in two seasons of the Real Madrid forum prediction league. Feel free to talk to LaBlanca who ran it.

I don't bring PdC's tactics onto XT. No fruits. :nono:

i wouldnt expect to say this before the game, but this draw tasted like a victory

after a 1st half where both teams had chances to score, but we run too much with the ball, without the necessary tempo, tiring ourselves way too much (specially considering its so early into the season and the physicla levels are still low) , clearly showing we were very very nervous, and a porto that played much calmer but whom if it wasnt for that childishness of kats committing a penalty, wouldnt have scored either....i was far from from pleased with the game

that lack of "linkeness" between our defense and our attack and vice-versa was appalling during the 1st half

there were holes in our midfield with the size of a crater at that point

yet, comes the 2nd half and we are clearly the team on the spot, the one creating chances, and finally scoring

and when it seems that we are about to ride for the victory, kats commits another childish mistake and we are left with 10 men on the pitch, so early into the 2nd half

and then something happens, something almost mythical:D

our team FINALLY starts playing with tempo and linking the sectors:D quique was perfect in the replacements, and even with aimar's and leo's injuries, forcing us to spend all of our subs due to non tactical decisions, we ended up...yes, actually controlling the game lol

we were with 10 men since before the 60mins and managed to keep the net intact until 4 or 5 mins past the regular time....players falling down with cramps, di maria , yebda, reyes totally fatigued, and yet thats when we played our most intelligent game of the match

given all the circumstances, this is a good result, and i'm happy to see that the players did play for the win, gave their best, even under such hard conditions. We have a lot to improve regarding the way we link the sector's ,obviously, but its reassuring to see that the motivation is there

i hope we can quickly improve the physical levels ,because with training the flowing of our game will start showing, and after today's 2nd half the level of confidence of the team has risen up

I agree, given that it was 10 vs 14 :pp
Was it me or Lucho's penalty was very soft???

i think it was soft yes. WOnt go as far as saying it was a fake, but was that kind of penalty that sometimes its called and sometimes isnt

kats was silly to push him, and then lucho decided to fall after kats actually let him go lol

it was a risky move from kats and there were consequences

later into the game raul meireles jumped blatantly on di maria, and the ref didnt call it. Given that he did call kats one, he should have called that one aswell, but oh well

at least this time he called our goal for what it was, a goal:D

i must admit that it took me sometime to be sure that it was officially a goal, since its too fresh in my memory the one time baia took the ball from inside the net aswell and the men in black had a different approach:D

And this is supposed to be a Porto team to be feared? Too bad Katzo got sent off - Porto were about to eat a few more.
