Benyoun is being sued!!!!

Yossi Benyoun is going to be sued for 12 million dollars (US) by his former boyhood team Hapoel Beer Sheva for breach of contract. The incident comes as a clause that had Benyoun owned by Hapoel Beer Sheva still and had no right to deal with Racing Santander Via Maccabi Haifa, if so, they want him to compensate $500,000 yearly because of this.
Since he ignored, he will have to go to court and settle this out.

Hapoel Beer Sheva claims that they had offers and contracts with other clubs in Europe that were well over $2 million dollars per year. Some were close to 5-8 Million and with top rated teams (some names we still don't know).

Also, Hapoel is going to take Racing Santader to court on an Arbitration case infront of FIFA as well..

so may this be another scheme or is it over for Benyoun's changes at the newly Promoted Racing Santander?

A storm in a cuptea...Eli Zino and his usual bitching. Nothing will come out of it IMO, he is just trying to take a bigger slice of the cake, being a typical Israeli (read: Money grabber).

More news about Racing, I've just read on Ynet that the club has debts in the region of 114 Mill. $ (!) Thereby it will not do any more purchases except the already signed Benayoun and Bachar, and will try to sell some of its stars in order to try and cover the debts. Wish them all luck.

Is Benyoun and Bachar the only 2 players that Racing Santander bought?

How much dependence does Racing we'll give for Benyoun since he is there for another 5 years? Is he an important player for them or an average player?

Racing counts on Yossi as their star player.

They will release Uruguyan player Rogerio who was in WC and another few guys , including Venezuelian striker.

So how come Benyoun doesnt have a clause stating that he will get paid more if the results are good??

Remember...he is only getting 1.5 million!

I exptected him to receive around 8 Million, but still!

We'll see how he does with teams like Real Madrid and FC barcelona!

You just saw that Santander is in heavy debts, how do you expect them to pay several million dollars a year?

Im not saying Racing, im daying that maybe some other team, perhaps chelsea or even Bordeux might have talks with Hapoel...

still, what happened, happened...
If Hapoel was very independent enough they would have thought about it and made before hand talks instead of act like the victim here and tell Benyaoun to give them money in which he doesn;'t have.

SAD! I respected Hapoel Beer Sheva :)

Benayoun free to go!!!!!!!!!!

Be'er Sheva District Court Judge Neil Hendel refused yesterday to grant Hapoel Be'er Sheva its request to prevent star midfielder Yossi Benayoun from leaving the country, ordering the club to pay court costs of NIS 3,000.

Hapoel has asked the Israel Football Association to intervene in the matter, as it feels that as an interested party, it should have been consulted on Benayoun's sale to Racing Santander of Spain. Be'er Sheva claims that it had buyers for the player who were willing to pay a far higher price than the Spanish club had reportedly been prepared to pay.

I hope to see Yossi in a Racing Jersey, come August!

We wish him luck and hope he can shine for Israel along with Illan Bachar!

Good luck to both!

Beer Sheva received it's demand and the court has dissallowed Benayun to sign in Santander until Beer Sheva receives $6M, however the court allowed Benayun to train with Santander.
