Batistuta too old?

To me Gabriel Omar Batistuta is the best foward in the world. Hernan Crespo is good but he has the tendancy of choking in world cup games. He reminds me of Raul from Real Madrid, Raul is very consistent in Real but in world cup play he dissapears. Batistuta should be a starter in the squad and should play entire games. Go Batigooooooooool

Bati is in a perfect age for the WC. He's fit enuff and at the same time he has experience which is VERY important at big tournaments like this one.
I think Batigol will be one of the star players of this tournament, without a sweat :star:

I'd play Crespo and Saviola as the first choice strikers. If they were to play 3 up front (and they will), then Batigol gets in.

Don't get me wrong, for Argentina he plays excellant club level is a different story

Russel, maybe he's not the best in the world, but Argentina NT won't be the same without him as a starter ...

there are some players who gives thier best when it is most needed and in the big ocassions.. he is one of them..i think he will once again be the no 1 striker for argentina..and his presence in enough for the team...he has been there and done that ......and he will do it again...

Bati's confidence is surely low after his season in Serie A where he looked like he couldnt score in a brothel. Will probably benefit opponents if he plays ahead of Crespo.

When Batistuta wears the Argentinian Jersey Magic happens.......Batistuta is not too old !!!
Maybe for the 2006 WC In Germany....but for 2002 He'll Rise and Shine for his Nation.

ALL we care is that he bangs a few goals in the WC to help us win it..he'been scoring a lot of goals lately in the trainings for our NT, his confidence is gettingn high again..

its hard to leave players like crespo, saviola, caniggia, lopez, solari out the team, but what can we do. in fact is fifas fault. they just let us put 11 players.

Striker Gabriel Batistuta, with whom Chelsea and Fulham were linked, has opted to see out the remaining year of his Roma contract.
The Blues and Fulham were alerted of his availability when Roma boss Fabio Capello admitted his interest in Auxerre's French international striker Djibril Cisse.
Batistuta has had a poor season by his standards, scoring just six times and failing to find the net since January, in the process falling behind Vincenzo Montella, Francesco Totti and Marco Delvecchio in the Roma pecking order.
Batistuta has, however, insisted he will see out his contract with Roma whether Cisse arrives or not, and will stay at the Olympic Stadium for one more season.
Batistuta's agent Settimio Aloisio said: "Gabriel has another year of his contract with Roma and has every intention to respect it until its conclusion.
"He is currently preparing himself for the World Cup, in which he wants to demonstrate he is still a player worthy of wearing a Roma shirt."

We are not uderstamating you, if there's one team, that we won't understimate is Engalnd, but we are thinking about Nigeria first, like youn should think about Sweden...
