Anyway Juve need 3 points v Madrid now otherwise Arrivederci from the Champions League... Zenit have the upper hand as long as they beat BATE twice... they have a home game v you lot and most likely an away game against an un motivated Madrid side. Its strange to say with 4 points different, but unless Juve beat Madrid at least once, it will be hugely difficult for you guys to qualify. Roma in a similar position tomorrow of course.
:howler: seriously

it seems 2 me as if dis is gods way of punishing u fo ur sins ......not da relegation :howler:
What exactly? The fact of having Ranieri as a coach? This seems to be an excellent example of masochism, rather than being punished.

yes similar....minus the 4 points :howler:

that said, quite a few if's there. like for instance, it's most likely real mardid will be "un-motivated" after playing juve back to back. stop being so naive and focus your attention on roma atleast earning their first point of the CL campaign. nobody needs reminding that we need 3 against RM. you need 3 in every home match in the CL...............

news to you i suspect......
Yes but this thread has nothing to do with Roma. 3 points v Madrid is not easy and then trying not to lose at Zenit will be tough... if your trip to Belarus was anything to go by. Zenit showed already in their first 2 games to be a very good team and I feel they will end up ahead of Juve after this next double header, my feelings dont tell the match of course...
Madrid are rarely totally unmotivated at home.

... and it's hardly given that Zenit will earn 6 against Bate, 3 against Juve. They play nice football, but aren't that effective.

Juve could squeeze through with 3 draws and a victory v Bate at Olimpico, fx.

Of course football is not so definitive... but if Zenit do win their next 2 as expected Juve will definitely need to beat Madrid

otherwise the last 2 games will be

Madrid (out of sight)
Zenit 6
Juve 4/5
BATE 1

And it would then mean Juve needing a draw in Russia and hoping Madrid do them a favour again, or it would mea Juve needing to win in Russia.

Anyway I think Juve can actually beat Madrid in Turin.
guys, i mean seriously..did you just start watching ball yesterday? especially CL ball?? we lost points today because a team started off extremely well at home and did so for about half an hour. after that what did they create when they weren't hemmed in their own zone? like seriously, you guys don't know how bush-league you sound.

RM are at 6 and we're at 4. the team that we were all concerned about, zenit, have 0 and RM play us back to back. i don't know about all of you but i think we're in pretty good shape. unfortunatly, we lost 2 when again we deserved max points but we created numerous chances and giovinco continued his promising play with 2 assists and a very tidy game overall. welcome to champions league guys, apparently you lot forgot what it entailed.

as for the romanisti here, let's pretend we're all in agreement here that cluj are THAT MUCH better than bate (for what it's worth) so we can soothe your afflictions. the equalizer here is that we didn't lose at home so really...piss off because you lot are an embarassment.

The point is CDM that this is CL ball so you are by no means clear of Zenit who play the weakest team of the group twice on the spin... the calendar favours them IMO also because they play Madrid on the final day when Madrid are expected to be home and dry and they still have you at home. So Juve in the box seat yes, but in 2 games time this could be different, as my post above suggests, or it may not be, we will find out.
Real will lose vs Juve home and away, and all will be well.

If that is the case then great for you guys :)
I don't see why we are trying to argue with the Romanisti about who is more pathetic.

Anyhow, we cannot hope to qualify based on the assumption that Zenit will lose points against Bate, we need to at least take points off them at home to secure qualification. I'm writing off Real at the Bernabeu as a loss but hopefully we can at least manage a point against them at home.

Or we could get eliminated after the first group stage and Ranieri can finally get the sacking he deserves. Honestly, right now i don't mind taking the hit.

He's a Che, don't trust him. :pp

Who'd replace him though?

It's not like a replacement is needed, a wall can do a better job than Ranieri.
I think its too early to start calculating and predicting about the future. Everything is still in our hands. Although i dont like the fact that our first game against real is a home leg.
After this stupid draw I think Juve will be waiting for RM to do them a favor against Zenit in the last round ..........

with this defence I doubt Juve can beat RM and lack of creativity ..... Higuain Robben and RVN would cause havoc .... 2 draws with RM would be very fine

You mean 4-6.

In any case, a lot of ifs.

Bate expected not to win a single point in the last games even if they put up a good fight v Juve and Madrid, respectively, etc.

Btw, Madrid haven't lost at home in ChL gs since 2002 (v Roma as it happens) and this defeat wasn't even influenced by them having qualified "in advance".

BATE? We drew with friggin' BATE? I am not even going to watch the highlights right now. I must relax first after a long day or I wil get a heart attack.
First of all, why is this guy still speaking.

So our beloved signora could only manage a draw against lowly Bate, a team we were expected to as many overpayed football writers said we should thrash because they have the lowest cl pedigree and will be lucky to score a point. Let me remind you this is the champions league, not the coca cola championship, its not longer much of a case anymore, that if you get an easy group you are guaranteed to go through, and this was on display tonight.

exactly, 2 games into it, and let me say 2 years after last being in this competition, and two years after facing stiff european competition, and already were calling for blood. CHAMPIONS league, it means a lot when you sit down and think about it. i agree, we are still in very good shape. Today was just a haystack moment, momentary chaos as some might call it, but even as a minority, i was still able to look at some good points that came from this game.

Giovinco tonight was extrodinary, 2 assists, and all over the back four, hopefully this is the final wake up call and get of your ass performance for ranieri (as difficult as it will be for him) to give the kid much more minutes. Was man of the match for me by miles, call me predjuidced but there you go.

Iaquinta is Iaquinta. He isn't wordclass, he doesnt bang in 20 or more a season, hell, he even looks quite out of place with a football by his feet. yet tonight was one of those rare nights that come along every once in a while, where you could argue his case. Every juve fan should be writing a thank you letter to iaquinta for bailing us out tonight.

Madrid at home, madrid away, zenit home, phooey, we play well, we play organized, we get it together, and all it takes is 90 minutes. dont tell me unmotivated or help us out, nope, 2 games 4 points 2 years later, still much hope

Viktor Goncharenko, BATE coach
We should be proud of this team. Taking into account that this is the Champions League and given the level of our opponents we achieved a very good result. But when I was walking here [to the press conference] I felt some unpleasant emotions because we were two goals ahead and then only got a point. Everything is possible in football. We lacked some experience as we could have won tonight. We still have everything to fight for against Zenit, and then against Madrid. I want to thank the Belarussian media, television and local journalists because they did not pay us any attention before the match. That gave us added motivation. They spoke about the Dinamo Stadium, about Juventus, about their great players. We know now where Del Piero and Nedvěd were born, but what do we know about Rodionov, Stasevich and Khagush? Let's continue in the same way.

Claudio Ranieri, Juventus coach
The first half an hour was a nightmare for us. We knew BATE were a good team and they showed that from the beginning. They were faster and we could not play at their tempo. I consider the draw a good result as we were two goals behind. We expected BATE to press early. They have very good players, but I would also like to thank my players as they reacted well and looked to change the game right up until the final whistle. My decision to put Giovinco in central midfield in a 4-3-3 formation was not the best choice for this match as BATE focused on fast breaks. I was right to take Legrottaglie off as he was not sure he could continue. Both teams played very well and pushed for a win until the final whistle.

Good comments by both coaches.
