This is from teamtalk, no don't laugh, this time they could be right.

Arsenal have hinted that a fourth striker will be signed to replace Davor
Suker as Graham Barrett is expected to be loaned out, possibly to QPR.
Barrett has been thought to have a decent chance to stake a first team
place next season and, while that remains the case in the long run,
Barrett is set to further his football education elsewhere.
The impressive and pacey FA Youth Cup winning skipper only made two
substitute Premiership appearances in the season just finished.
He would get far more first team experience on loan and Arsenal do have
a recent pedigree for sending players to Queens Park Rangers.
Defender Brian McGovern spent a number of months at Loftus Road this
season and Rangers boast ex-Gunners in keeper Lee Harper, defenders
Steve Morrow and Matthew Rose plus striker Chris Kiwomya.
Barrett's fellow Arsenal hopeful Ashley Cole spent the last few months of
this season on loan at Crystal Palace and his Highbury chances are now
better for it.
This development for Barrett now makes it extremely likely that Arsenal
will look to sign a fourth striker to replace the departing Davor Suker.

Personally I feel this would be the correct decision. While it would be 'nice' to introduce a new youth team product next season, he simply is not ready. Loaning him out to a club where he will have the oppotunity to play regularly, would be in the best intrests of both the club and the player. We shouldn't base our decisions on some percieved notion of sentimantality.

yar i agree
it would be wrong to throw barrett straight into the first team next season
loan him out to a first division club so he can get experience
