Barnsley have completed the signing of Notts County striker Mark Stallard.

The 29-year-old agreed personal terms with the Oakwell outfit on Tuesday and will go into their squad for the league game at Brighton on Saturday.

"I have had five good years at Notts and hopefully I will do a job here at Barnsley and help us get promoted," said Stallard.

"The prospect of playing at Oakwell is exciting. It is a challenge and I have come here to score goals.

"I want to push us into the play-offs and maybe onto automatic promotion," he told the club's official website.

Stallard has netted six times for the struggling Magpies this term, with Gary Mills' side 22nd in the league.

But he did bag 25 goals last season and has enjoyed spells with Derby, Bradford and Wycombe.
