Barcelona V. Villareal: Saturday, April 27

Inspite of what a few ill informed (and biased) websites have reported recently, Barca ARE in 4th place and not 5th in the League, on goal difference (GD), Barca's GD is +23, while Celta's is +19; this obviously means Celta have to win all 3 of their matches AND increase their goal difference by +4 to make it to the 4th spot.

The game against Villareal obviously then is of vital importance to Barca, as are the next 2 games.

Forever Barca!

Let's see if WE can win our three games. We haven't won three league games in a row this whole season! And now with the devastating loss against rm just a few days ago.... Let's hope Celta will lose some point too... Good think about the goals difference though!
there is another topic for this game...

Wrong. In Spain the first thing that counts is hte results between the teams with the same points, and Celat drew at the Camp Nou and won at home. So if these two teams finish with the same number of points, Celat wil end-up on top.
GaspartJoan, if the rule in Spain when two teams are on equal points is how they fared againstone another, then tell me how the OFFICIAL FCBarcelona.com website has always had Barca in 4th place all this week? You reckon they don't know the rules...

Obviously yes ... GJ is right as much as it may hurt (I hate this fecken rule)
Kluivert

Ones to watch

On his last visit to the Nou Camp with Las Palmas, Guayre scored on of the goals of the season, and although he’s not been finding things too easy since his move to the mainland, he remains a dangerous and skillful forward. Saviola failed to score on Tuesday night, but will undoubtedly be hoping to add to his impressive home scoring record on Saturday, as will Kluivert, who needs a late goal rush if he’s to win the “pichichi” this season.

This is from barcelona.com so I would think that Pat is gonna play tonight woudn´t u agree???

Come on Pat win the Pichichi!!!!!!
Barça is 5th, as GJ said it counts the direct scores of the teams involved.

Barça 2-2 Celta
Celta 2-1 Barça

So, Celta has the advantage.
I think that Spain is the only country where results between teams preveil over goal difference. Being a LEAGUE competition I would tend to think that goal difference would be a more fair way to break a tie. Anyway, these are the rules and if Barça are out of next years Champions League they can only blame themselves for that.
Well, in Russia if squads take the same number of points they have to play an extra match (golden match) to find out who`s the champion. So, it`s not the worst rule in Spain.
