Conte´s dispute with Juve
By Zoomsoccer, 2000-07-14
TURIN - July 14 (ZoomSoccer) - Juventus captain Antonio Conte could be about to leave the Stade Delle Alpi over a dispute with Luciano Moggi. The Juve director refuses to meet Conte to discuss an extension to his contract.
The midfielder wants to stay in Turin, but wants an increased salary and extended deal. He said, ´I´m looking for a contract for life with Juventus. I think I deserve it and I want to end my career with Juventus.´
But Conte is only a couple of months into a new contract and Moggi refuses to renegotiate. He said, ´We only just signed a new agreement with him two months ago. These players have to understand something - they can leave a team before they sign a contract, but once they sign, that contract stands. These are professional players.´
Juve tickets slump as fans protest

TURIN - July 14 (ZoomSoccer) - Juventus have only managed to sell 6,000 season tickets as fans protest over the situation at the Stade Delle Alpi. Juve´s supporters are reportedly bitterly disappointed over the manner with which they lost the scudetto last season, and believe the lack of new signings will leave them empty handed again.
While Lazio continue to strengthen their champions with Hernan Crespo, Claudio Lopez and Boudewijn Zenden, Juve have been quiet in the market.
French Euro 2000 hero David Trezeguet has arrived for £14m, but the fans are angered that Filippo Inzaghi is likely to make way for him. And Luciano Moggi has failed to sign a top class midfielder, after missing out on Stefano Fiore and Patrick Viera.
But Moggi believes the critics will be eating their words. He said, ´This team is stronger than last year's and will amaze you once again.´
He also announced that there will be no more new signings until Decmber 31st when Athirson arrives from Flamengo.
>>>This is getting serious, man. I'm not worried about Conte because i know damn right he is replaceable.
What I'm afraid is that Juve will sooner or later turn out and start being like Milan. The club will go quiet and slowly slip into the ranks of 2nd class clubs like Udinese/Bologna type. Face the fact man, if Lazio continue doing what they do every season, serie A will be a one man show and they will dominate the league like Juve and Milan did in the early years. I know, I know they look good on paper but what really counts is how they perform on the pitch but Lazio seem to leave other clubs behind everytime the transfer season starts. Boy, the more Lazio buy, the more i would love to see them fail.
But the truth is, i think there will be less and less Juve fans. Only those who know the real meaning and truly support the club will stay back while i believe in the future Lazio will get lots of benefits from their so-called 'dream team'. Our ticket sales are slumping and now even the captain wants to leave the club. I just can't imagine if Davids and Zidane were to leave the club. By then my as well close down business because i know very well Juve won't buy any big-name players and that is part of their problem. Of course fans will go jealous seeing other clubs getting all the good players, but don't get me wrong, to me, Juve's transfer campaign has been fine but i think they still can do better. It will be a tough season. Even if Juve can win, i think people will prefer to watch teams like Lazio and Roma because of their line-up.
I believe that if Lazio gets Cannavaro, that will be the beginning of a new domination by a single team and it won't stop unless someone does something. I dunno what.........
