Azzurri set up Spanish test Tuesday 9 March, 2004

Italy¡¯s final friendly match before the Euro 2004 tournament will be against Spain on April 28, confirmed the FIGC.

There had been suggestions for several months that the two nations would clash in a bid to prepare for the European Championships.

The Azzurri will welcome Spain to the Stadio Luigi Ferraris ¨C also known as ¡®Marassi¡¯ ¨C in Genoa.

The last time the international squad graced this arena was on Feb 12 2003, when Giovanni Trapattoni¡¯s men triumphed 1-0 over Portugal in a friendly.

The Under-21 side has also confirmed an international test against their Swedish counterparts.

The tie will take place at Trento¡¯s Stadio Briamasco on Tuesday April 27, but the kick-off time has not yet been confirmed.

It will be Coach Claudio Gentile¡¯s final friendly before the European Under-21 Championships in Germany, set to start on May 27.

Are there any other friendlies scheduled for Italy before Euro?

I just hope Trap test the TEAM now instead of testing players. He doesn't have the time to do this anymore, he has just to look at player's performances on their teams or history and pick them. Changing 10 players in the half-time like he did against Czech Republic isn't gonna help Azurri become a team...
