Azerbaijan Beach Soccer Federation was established in 2003. But it has not functioned due to the unknown circumstances. In February 2008 the new management of AFFA (Azerbaijan Football Federations Association) and the new management of Azerbaijan Beach Soccer Federation have launched the new and aggressive project to develop and popularize Beach Soccer in Azerbaijan.

There are no pro beach footbalers in Azerbaijan. These are all either semi-pros or amateurs, and these black kids are probably students or something.

The French Embassy in Azerbaijan has clarified its refusal from issuing a visa to the Azerbaijani National Beach football team in time.

The Embassy told Trend News on 4 July that documents for via request should be submitted to the Embassy at least five days before the issue. The Azerbaijani Beach Football Federation delayed the documents and the Embassy could not solve a visa problem in time.

The Azerbaijani National Beach football team was to meet with the French National team within the framework of the European League to be held in Tin, French city, on 4 July. As the French Embassy in Azerbaijan refused to issue visa to the Azerbaijani National team, this visit was canceled. The winner of the France-Azerbaijan match was to meet with the winner of the Turkey-UK match at the semifinal.

it is not the World Cup itself, it is qualification tournament for the World Cup. Top 5 teams will reserve a ticket to the next year World Championship. Now Azerbaijan beat England and advanced to the quarterfinals. In the quarterfinal Azerbaijan will meet Spain and the winner will guarantee the spot in the next year finals.

we've lost very unlucky draw for us. First we got European champions Spain, then World Cup runner-ups Italy. But still I think our boys can be proud with this performance. :thumbsup:
