Almeria Striker Alvaro Negredo Attracts AZ Interest

According to Diario de Almeria, Eredivisie side AZ are closely monitoring the situation of highly-rated forward Alvaro Negredo. The former Real Madrid starlet currently plays for Almeria.

Current AZ forward Mounir el Hamdaoui has been in superb form this season and has attracted the interest of several foreign teams. The Moroccan striker is being linked with Palermo, Tottenham Hotspur and Barcelona.

Therefore, the Eredivisie table-toppers are in the market for a replacement, with Negredo as their primary target. The 23-year-old is one of the revelations of the Primera Division and has scored 16 goals so far this campaign.

Negredo was already being linked with English sides Portsmouth and Fulham, while Valencia are reportedly also chasing the prolific hitman as a possible replacement for David Villa.

It remains to be seen whether Negredo is interested in leaving Spain for Holland, but the prospect of playing Champions League football with AZ is definitely tempting for the young striker.

sounds too good to be true!...I mean his possible arrival :)

Sounds unlikely, we're no longer in the habit of spending a great deal of money on players and we have plenty of replacements in our youth squads already.

But I guess it's nice that we've moved up in popular view or goal.com wouldn't post stuff like this :D

The only ''top'' spanish 'team that was interested was Valencia I think, and the chance that they play CL next season is nihil.

I think its a possible transfer..
