Week 33 - 28/4/02
Verona – Milan
Stadio Bentegodi
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
These two sides are desperate for points, but they hold very different objectives.
Verona have plummeted down the table during the last two months and now hover just two points clear of the relegation zone. Adrian Mutu and Marco Zanchi return from suspension, but the team must work on their concentration levels. Last week Lazio came from behind to take a 5-1 lead, only for Alberto Malesani’s men to wake up in the final ten minutes.
Milan’s Champions’ League hopes are wavering as that win over Verona allowed Lazio to leapfrog into fifth place. Paolo Maldini and Manuel Rui Costa should be back in action for this trip to the Bentegodi Stadium, although Andrea Pirlo will start the match. The Rossoneri have not scored in their last two outings and this is their real weakness at the moment.
