Should the FFA appoint SBS's Les Murray and Craig Foster Australia's number one football experts to the FFA board of control when appointing the next national team coach??

After all SBS and Les Murray inparticular have been just about running the game in Australia now for over 25 years and Craig Foster is by far Australia's number one football expert so it makes sense to utilise these two world renowned footballing doyens to help the rugger chaps who now run FFA to appoint a new coach and technical director and if they do hopefully they will be either Dutrch,Brazilian or French in order for Australia to become World champions in the next 20 years or so.

what do you guys think??

It'll be Neeskens.

He was hired for a reason.

Neeskens may well be the one but the question was should Lers Murray and Craig Foster be involved the future appointments of the NT coach and all other high profile coaching staff at FFA?

So many possibilities:

1) Arnold. Will surely launch a push for the top job. If he doesn't get it, perhaps go lick his wounds with Breda. But since our chances in Asia are good over the next couple of years, he might be happy to remain assistant to a high profile coach.

2) Neeskens. Probably too short on big time coaching experience.

3) Arnold and Neeskens in tandem. Probably a bit messy for the FFA. Lowy will want a single top dog, I would imagine.

Among the hundreds of other names that could be mentioned, I think it makes sense to limit the possibilities to Dutch coaches. The players and administrators seem happy with the Dutch methodologies, so you'd have to assume they'll be looking to appoint someone Dutch who has a similar stature to Guus. That might mean:

4) Dick Advocaat. Is he coming off contract with South Korea after the World Cup? Well established relations with Craig Moore.

5) Louis Van Gaal. Currently AZ Alkmaar.

6) Marco Van Basten. Yes please! But only in the unlikely situation that Holland bow out early and he gets the boot :)

If they're unavailable, the next tier of possibilities would be:

Ronald Koeman (Benfica), Frank Rijkaard (duh), Martin Jol (Spurs), Bert van Marwijk (Dortmund), Co Adriaanse (Porto), Danny Blind (Ajax), and Erwin Koeman (Feyenoord - contract just extended) -- all very fat chances indeed.

I can so see us getting Advocaat.

as for bora milutinovic, hes way way way overrated, hopefully either neeskens or graham arnold gets the nod

How is Bora Milutonovic overrated?? He has gotten several teams to the WC and made wonders with them. And he has basically coached small football nations aswell. He got 5 teams to the WC, and barely has gotten the recognition he deserves.

no he hasnt, hes gotten one team to the worldcup, china, because japan and south korea, two of the asian powerhouses werent involved in qualifying. every other team hes coached at a world cup qualified automatically because they were the hosts, or had already qualified. in 1998 he was responsible for nigeria not making the quarters because he rested virtually the entire preferred lineup in the third group game, disrupting them

Did Neesken's style of play look convincing against Bahrain?

Neeskens took a minnow club like NEC to the UEFA Cup not that long ago - he's good enough to coach Australia, that I'm sure of.

But he also got sacked in 2004 after poor results. NEC are now 8th in the league, their squad is pretty decent.

Getting them into Europe was great of course, but every year in every league you'll get one year wonders that are easy to coach.
