Athletic will start the preseason with the physicall work in Isla Canela (Huelva), place where Caparrós already took Sevilla and Deportivo.

The first friendlies will be played in Morocco. We'll play a tournament in Casablanca and Rabat, with a local team, Lazio and a french Ligue 1 team still to be confirmed.

Then we'll travel to Greece to play vs PAOK Thessaloniki. Then to England to play friendlies vs 2 Premiership clubs and then back to Huelva to play the Colombino tournament.

This might vary if we qualify for intertoto.

Athletic has signed another fitness trainer, just for the preseason, Bernardo Requena Sánchez. He's specialist in the force aspect and worked with Caparrós in Sevilla, he's the personal fitness assistant of former Sevilla players currently in R.Madrid, Sergio Ramos and Julio Baptista.

Not official confirmation of the 'cachorros' who will make the preseason although Caparrós confirmed in an interview that Ion Vélez deserves to return after his good work in Hércules. This article mentions that Ander Iturraspe, Isma López, Iker Muniain and Igor Angulo are the ones with more chances, although there will probably be one or two more.

Bwah this time you guys are lucky...

However, I might consider to take a look at the England friendlies as my Dutch team Utrecht will at least play on friendly in England too (in Derby), so if a combination is possible, why not...

Why the Moroccan tournament, are we invited?

Also in friendlies?

I know they're crazy, but also against a team they haven't got a history with and they play a friendly with?

people in this part of europe take football and their team like something to fight and die for... we don't have strict laws on sport events, and everything is less consequential, if you understand (that's how it's like in serbia, but l think it's not much better in greece).
last year (UEFA Cup) Crvena Zvezda played with Aris (or Ares) in Thessaloniki, and as a sign of friendship, and gratitude to Partizan (for fighting Olympiakos (one of hated clubs by PAOK) fans in Belgrade when they played Crvena Zvezda), PAOK fans attacked every fan they found in the city... they are fanatics...

Does anyone know when the dates will be announced?

Utrecht play a friendly in Derby at August 2nd, would be great to do a combination, but I guess that's too early, probably it will be late in August when Athletic play in England? :)

EDIT: Sorry was too fast, in Athletic's page the give a brief schedule, but there the don't mention the games in England :googly:.

Can try to understand, also in Holland we've got troubles, but I think that's by far not as bad as in your country or Greece.
If some group have a rivalry with some other fan-group, it's no surprise there'll be troubles, but if there's noone... would it still be that bad?

I won't travel to Saloniki btw, don't worry, hehe. ;)

vasak is sadly saying the truth.
But I believe there won't be such a problem, they will see the Athletic badge and stuff, if I go (90%), I'll wear proudly my shirt!
Just somebody who knows Spanish tell me the dates when he/she can!

Prem season usually starts mid-August, so I'm guessing the friendlies will probably be either early-August or late July.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if it's in the same week as the Derby - Utrecht game, so you may be in luck.

since l got my shirt (a week ago), l hardly take it of, but it's kind a tricky, l always was a Partizan fan, wearing black and white and cheering against red and whites, so people who know me have strange look on their faces when they see me...
If l decide to wisit Solun, you will be first informed, to test again the well known Greek hospitality. Deal?

there's supporters groups that cheer, who are good people, don't get in unreasonable fights, that's normal, by me.
but, there's idiots, drugerd children, and simple retards who go berserk on anybody. that's what puts bad light on the entire team...

Actually a trip to either Old Firm team (Rangers or Celtic) would be a good game and a good experience for any Athletic fans going up. Both sets of fans are very passionate and the two stadiums aren't bad either.

I do agree though, I'd rather they play an English team, more chance of me seeing it that way.

Agree with your last sentence, but personally I prefer Celtic a thousand times over Rangers.
Just look at Rangers fans behaviour wherever they go in Europe. :yuck: Totally no respect for anything.

Also, on another note, for me personally games in England are better because of I hope to do a combi with Derby-Utrecht.

No friendly in Thessaloniki then? Or just the dates have not been arranged yet?
Probably the dates aren't announced yet. Have a look at post 10 in this thread :).

It's just waiting for us...
