Bit late but lets have one.

Premiership rules

* 10 Points for the correct outcome of the match, that is home win or away win, but not the correct score, or goal difference or a draw between the teams. E.g. You predict Arsenal 3 Chelsea 1 and the actual score is Arsenal 1 Chelsea 0.

* 15 Points for the correct outcome of the match with the correct goal difference but not the correct score. E.g. You predict Arsenal 2 Chelsea 1 and the actual score is Arsenal 1 Chelsea 0.

* 20 Points for the correct prediction of a draw but not the correct score. E.g. You predict Arsenal 2 Chelsea 2 and the actual score is Arsenal 1 Chelsea 1.

* 30 Points for the correct outcome of the match with the correct score. E.g. You predict Arsenal 1 Chelsea 2 and the actual score is Arsenal 1 Chelsea 2.

* -10 (minus 10) Points are awarded for an incorrect prediction of the outcome of the game. E.g. You predict Arsenal 0 Chelsea 2 and the actual score is Arsenal 2 Chelsea 0.
plus 10 points bonus if you manage to get the first goalscorer right :)

As it's too close to tomorrow, I'll start with the Monday games:

India vs Australia

South Korea vs Bahrain

Tuesday:

North Korea vs United Arab Emirates

Iraq vs Iran

Didn't know a thread for this even existed.

Anyways, my prediction is that Japan will win it. I like their team out of any available teams in Asian Cup, or Asia in general, despite me being an Iranian. South Korea probably has the game though to give Japan a really hard time.

I wouldn't be surprised if South Korea or Australia won it given that they are capable and that most of the competition are weak anyways.

I'm not sure how far Iran will get, but I have a bad feeling Iraq will get the better of Iran and win for the first time in their career against them. Most of the matches have been close ones, but if Iraq is mentally there, they are capable of upsetting, especially if terrible teams like Kuwait, UAE, Jordan, Syria, or Saudi give them a tough time, Iraq should be capable. Group D for sure is the group of death.

My predictions to reply to yours:

Monday:

South Korea vs Bahrain 2-1 (South Korea)

India vs Australia 5-1 (Australia)

Tuesday:

North Korea vs UAE 2-0 (North Korea)

Iraq vs Iran 2-1 (Iraq's first ever win given that they are sick and tired of losing to Iran, they will come hard)

I thought Australia haven't recovered from the Verbeek syndrome :howler:

Creeping up though, South Korea is more likely to win against Australia.

If you want player predictions, for Iran I'm going with:

Younis Mahmoud, Nashat Akram, and the single goal of Iran's I will go with Nekounam.

I predict Iraq will hit the first goal (probably Mahmoud) and Iran will hit the second (Nekounam) it will be leveled, then Akram will probably hit the 2nd one. I believe all goals will happen in the 2nd half :)

As for North Korea's 2-0 victory, I'm going with Tae-se hitting the first one, and a random player hitting the second.

:D
