Arsenal Vs West Ham United

Well, only for the sixth time this season I've managed to secure a couple of seats for the Arsenal (no jokes about my girth please). Can't wait as I started so promisingly this season.....I've seen us lose to Leeds and Charlton, but beat ManU and Chelsea and draw with Liverpool. When I go, I try to make to the games that count. Now, I haven't been able to get down to Highbury for a drink before the game in soooo long I don't really know where's any cop any more. The three pubs I used to frequent were the Highbury Barn, The Gunners, and the White House near Lordship Park. Any suggestions?

Also, I think tomorrow night is going be make or break. Get a result tomorrow and the championship race is all but over. This (apart from Old Trafford, obviously) is our toughest game. WHU will always be a hard fought, very physical encounter anyway, and with so much to play for for both teams I think it'll be a tight midfield battle. I can see us picking up the win necessary, but I do not for one moment think that this will be a cake walk by any means.

I'm not even supposed to be here today

people keep on harping on about the game at old trafford, but in my opinion this is the big one. if we win we'll have to do something spectaculary stupid to throw it away.
i've got every confidence that we'll do it but i think there's another twist yet.
west ham are a good all round team, maybe their weakness is their defence so if we can play our usual attacking way AND TAKE OUR CHANCES we should be ok.
our players will be knackered from the past week, vieira and henry especially after playing the full 90 minutes for france.:(
whats the deal with jeffers? is wenger reluctant to play him incase he gets injured, or does he feel he's not good enough? i would like to see the lad feature in some way. even for 15 minutes at the end of the match. hiopefully we'll be 3-0 up then:D
i'd play -
seaman

lauren-------adams---------keown---------cole

parlour-------vieira----------grimandi--------ljungberg

bergkamp---------henry

i'm a big fan of edu but i think the grimster should start and free up vieira by man marking j cole.
an early goal would be great but i dont care anymore as long as we win!:)
up the arsenal;)

I would prefer Edu to Grimandi, there is no need to man marking Joe Cole, the kid is good but not that good to have one man taking care of him. With our normal midfield on form, they will have to chase the game anyway. With West Ham having nothing to worry about I hope the game will be more open, therefore a 4-2 win to us.

Lauren_ _ _ _Adams_ _ _ _Keown_ _ _ _Cole

Ljungberg_ _ _Vieira_ _ _ _Parlour_ _ _ _Edu

Ive allways said Parlour makes a good defensive/Attacking midfielder! On the Right hand side he does alot of work but makes more effect in the centre alongside Vieira!
With that line up, we can win all our games no prob.
important match to win
its our catch up time
with keown and adams back
i think it feels quite safe

i am hoping henry will socre

It has to be The Gunners, mate!

This will be the most difficult game of the run-in. The United one is a meaningless one if we win tomorrow. Bolton and Everton are just relieved to be safe after huge and desperate exertions over the last few weeks, so it really is this game. If we win it, we have to do something ridiculous to throw it away.

Who remembers the game against them in 99/00? We were 1-0 down with 10 left, Overmars scored on 81" and Petit got a controversial winner on 89"... a very tough match and the stakes are a infinitely higher now.

Who thinks Adams will play? I've got a suspicion he won't make it beause it seems he can only play one game a week at the moment...

There were no reports of new injuries after the Ipswich game, I think Freddie is playing whilst patched up with a sore back, but Ashley and Razor should continue their come-backs.

I dont really want to make a prediction for this one...

You never know, it could be one of those games where we get 2 or 3 goals in the first 20... that would be nice but we never make things easy for ourselves do we?

Fair play to the Gooners so far. They've appeared to be very focussed and have rightly ignored Fergo's lame attempts at mind games to put themsleves into an almost impregnable position.

I'm obviously hoping that they drop some points tonight as the Hammers are in good form and then if that happens and Liverpool can win their remaining games, it'll set it up nicely for the OT decider where anything can happen and I will probably for the first and last time be rooting for the Manure.:eek:

Come on you 'Ammers!!!
Arsenal v WHU

Personally I don't care if it's the worst game in history, as long as we come away with 3 points. That's all that matters at this stage

COME ON YOU REDS!!!!!!!!
I must say that West Ham is by and far the biggest game of the season for you. They are playing well, have good players and can play some really nice football. But at the same time, Arsenal are the ones who must win more than anything else and because of that they will win. Expect a closely fought, high scoring game :D
AFC V WHU

I don't think it will be a high scoring game. I predict another frustrating night for the men in red. Saying that, if Arsenal can get an early goal, all the tension will go and they'll score a few (similar to the Ipswich game). On the plus side West Ham are not fighting relegation and hopefully they'll come out with a more attacking formation. I'm going for either 1-0 (bergkamp, obviously)
or 3-0 (Bergkamp, Henry, Freddie) depending on whether we get an early goal

I can say this though, I'll have no fingernails after the game :stress:
I really hope we can kill the game of early because it will be a hell to watch. If a team wants to get a point from Highbury they need to have a great defending and I wouldn`t say that Defending is West hams best ability. I`m glad that Di Canio is out because he`s a fantastic fplayer and must be Hammers best player the last 15 years.
I really hope Wenger will play Big Tone even if it may be risky, We can`t afford to play Stepanovs at this stage of the seasone and hopefully we will have Campbell back against Bolton:) .
Good point, Jakke....WHU don't have the greatest defence, but then again....neither do Ipswich, but I still think you're right in that we should score. You're point about Di Canio, however.....they'll probably go with Kanoute and Defoe up front, which isn't bad, is it?!

I'd prefer to go with Big Tone tonight, but I'm sure that Igors will do fine if he comes in.

This feels like I'm Han Solo, you're Chewbacca, she's Obi Wan and we're in that fuked up cantina!

You must be joking?! I already like that kid before he made it to the England's cap! That kid is god damn good I tell you! Leeds was wrong to purchase Seth Johnson although he's a rough neck too, but Joe is special. He is almost a complete player... I would love to see him partnering Viera next season if he considers a move to Highbury...

No doubt about it... West Ham is one of the few club that could create an upset... (But that was long time ago when Redknapp was in charged) However, they are still a threat...
B BRUCE: You`re right, Defoe (Must be among the most promsing Strikers in the world) and Kanoute is no bad players but Di Canio is something special. I really fear West ham because they have so many players who I can see destroy our seasone :nervous:
We have lost points in games like Spurs away, Soton away, Blacburn at home and Charlton at home because we have stopped attack after that we have taken the lead and start defending, I really hope that won`t be the case tomorrow because if we start defend against West ham I`m surethey will score sóoner or later. Let`s score 3 in the first half TITTI :D
two early goals will kill the match off, but a third one is needed to be safe and for the goal difference at the end of the season which it may come down to. Bergkamp for one and maybe Edu for another.
before arsenal use to net in alotta goals early in the 1st half and just defend which was great
but at the hotspurs match, everything was just the other way
the hotspurs match was close
and the semi final agaisnt boro we didnt even score that goal and that was the only goal of the match
then in the ipswich game it was just a bar zare match so yea
i am hopeing we start scoring like hell
:undecide:

i am the one who suggest to buy defoe:stuckup: :D
Anyone who would like to meet up at some chat and talk before the game tonight ?
I'm considering re-opening our mIRC channel in light of all the new members. There might be more demand now. But it wont be just yet, Jacke.
